Description
Brewed in Silchester and drawing inspiration from new world hops, Germany’s malts and beer styles from across the globe, we vow to make your drinking experience as enjoyable as our brewing.

The Brewery was taken over in early 2022. The new owner then bought Boss Brewing Company in Swansea. Boss went into liquidation, but restarted, and in 2023 Wild Weather closed the Silchester site and relocated to join Boss in Swansea.

Cask handpump, Beerd (The Grapes) Oxford, Saturday 30th January 2016 Good pushy, punchy hoppiness throughout this, a little bit of wine gum juicy fruitiness which I like, it’s a lovely fruity beer. Really enjoyed this. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Cask at the Nags Head, Reading. The pump clip describes this as a DIPA, but I think English Strong Ale is closer to the mark. It’s golden amber with a ring of cream head; the aroma has some resinous hops; the texture is oily, with more resin, some spice and a solid malty body adding some sweetness; followed by a dry resinous finish. I did not find this particularly enjoyable.

Keg from Cambridge Blue. The keg was marked at 5.6% but the bottles are 5.8%. Light gold, hazy with a proud white head. Peach/apricot aroma: fresh, enticing, sweet. Taste starts sweet but the sweetness is met by an intense acrid sour. Apple skin and earwax in the finish. Best to be sipped slowly to appreciate the shifting nuances of flavour.

Cask at the Bell, Waltham St Lawrence. Bright amber with a thin white head; sweet aroma with lots of pine needles; syrupy texture in the mouth, with lots of resinous hops; and a smooth, dry, satisfying finish. A good West Coast style IPA.

Cask at the Nags Head - Reading. Pours clear gold with a lasting, creamy white head. Nice dank hop aroma, notes of melon, pee, peach. Light sweet flavor with soft grassy bitterness, pale bread, more melon, urine, tangerine, peach. Light bodied with fine carbonation; decent condition. Nicely balanced finish, with grass and pine needles, some dry tropical fruits, pale bread, citrus rind. Nice one.

Cask handpump at St Aldates Tavern, Oxford, Wednesday 2nd December 2015. Pours light amber with filmy white head, a tropical fruit a little sweetness. A touch of dusty hop, fine. This was a beer that started off good but ended up a little disappointing. Fine. A6 A4 T6 P3 Ov12 3.1

Cask at the Nags Head, Reading. A slightly hazy straw coloured pour with a thick creamy head; tropical fruit aroma; tropical fruit taste as well, but also dry and spicy; then a dry finish with a prickly bitterness. A satisfying pint.
