Description
In 2012, The Harbour Brewing Co. was just a fledgling idea: to brew proper beer reflecting the land (and shores) from where it came. Taking the best raw ingredients - awesome hops, Cornish spring water tapped straight from the source - and bringing them to life through dedication to technique. The concept evolved by the ocean - hence, 'Harbour' - but the beer came into being on the farm. There is joy in returning to the roots of the ingredients. And the heritage of the space, of the land, of the ocean, remain our inspiration.
Everything clicks; the farm is Harbour's home.

Tap at the Euston Tap, 24/07/13. Lightly hazed golden blonde with a good sized off white head. Nose is grainy, pine resin, light hops, bitter orange, citrus, light minerals. Taste comprises a litte more depth than the nose suggests, bitter grapefruit, orange pith, rye bread, light pine, mineral notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, dryish finish with a tropical fruit tang. Solid enough hopped up affair.

Cask at Caley Sample Room. Pours amber with a small white head. Aroma shouts BOOZE! Big rum and sherry notes. Tastes like drinking fruit punch. Not subtle, nor balanced.

Cask at the Birmingham Beer Bash 2013. Poured a hazy medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is yeast more yeast and a little malt. The flavour is medium bitter, with some, alcohol liqourice and not much else. Perhaps it doesnโt need it.

Cask Pub & Kitchen. Clear dark amber - brown beer, little pale tan head. Softish palate with mellow carbonation. Touch of smoky dark malt. Whisper of dark fruits, but the green apple is more of a shout! Touch of red berries. Overall this beer is quite flat and dry and the notable apple streak leads me to suspect this is a bit green.

Cask Pub & Kitchen. Light haze on this deep amber - red beer. Little pale cream coloured head. Airy, creamy malt. Vanilla oak (didnโt know this was BA). Candy sweet floralness - kinda crazy violet and rose infused marzipan, but there are other floral things. Traces of coca cola and generic fruits. Adding even more complexity to this already complex beer a whispers of chilli and cinnamon. Light bubblegum esters. Finishes smooth and lightly woody dry. Strewth! What a gobfull! But it all hangs together in to a rich and tasty beer.

Cask Pub & Kitchen. Cask. Almost clear paleish gold beer, little white head. Light dry palate. Pretty dry. Elderflower sweetness and tang. Whisper of citrus which complements the elderflower well. Overall this beer is thinner and drier than I would prefer, but a nice flavour.

Cask Pub & Kitchen. Cask. The No.2 Pale Ale Pumpclip - with a little white label that said โblackโ. Really more of a darkish amber beer than a black one. Little white head. Light dry palate, mild fine carbonation. The malt is light and dry with very little dark character. There is piney hops and red berry fruits. Trace of ripe orange underneath. Finishes fairly dry. Not bad.

Cask Pub & Kitchen. Keg. Oak Aged version. Very hazy gold beer, little white head. Light crisp palate. Mild minerals. Lovely hop fruits - mellow peach, mango and other tropical. Balanced by a medium grapefruit bitterness. Riding alongside is a very nice light vanilla oak tone. A little creamy malt before a semi dry finish that show light peel and a whisper of skunk. Lovely!

Cask Pub & Kitchen. Light haze on this gold beer, little white head. Smooth palate, dry. Fine carbonation. Smooth malt, light cream. Pithy hops - orange and grapefruit. Maybe a trace of rye spice, could be hop spice. Finishes dry and bitter. Good, if a bit dry.
