Description
In 2012, The Harbour Brewing Co. was just a fledgling idea: to brew proper beer reflecting the land (and shores) from where it came. Taking the best raw ingredients - awesome hops, Cornish spring water tapped straight from the source - and bringing them to life through dedication to technique. The concept evolved by the ocean - hence, 'Harbour' - but the beer came into being on the farm. There is joy in returning to the roots of the ingredients. And the heritage of the space, of the land, of the ocean, remain our inspiration. Everything clicks; the farm is Harbour's home.

Cask at CPK - Pimlico, London. Pours clear, copper-gold with a fine, beige foam head. Lots of ripe, semi-dark fruits in the nose, some wood and leather, lightly aged malts. Medium to big sweet flavor, quite boozy, lots of ripe berries, dried fruits, sugary and lightly bredy malts. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Sweet finish, lightly sticky, more ripe berries, warming alcohol, faint drying wood. If you told me this was 12% ABV I would believe you.

Cask at CASK. It pours hazy golden yellow with a small white head. The nose is earth, light toast, spice, rye, brown bread and a touch of sweetness. The taste is wood, resinous, brown bread, earth, spice, oily, citrus rind and decent bitterness with a very dry, bitter finish. Medium body, soft carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Decent enough, but not massively drinkable.

Cask at CPK - Pimlico, London. Pours perfectly. Lear, pale yellow with a slight, foamy white head. Some floral notes in the nose, a bit of green bell pepper. Light sweet flavor with dominant green bell pepper, less any spicy kick. Some lightly doughy malts, a bit of straw and dry lemon. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Fairly dry to finish, further bell pepper, dry dough, straw. Interesting elderflower character.

Cask at CPK - Pimlico, London. Pours deep gold with a fine, creamy white head. Grainy malts on the nose, some dirty wheat. Light to medium sweet flavor, some sugary bread, just the faintest suggestion of berries, low bitterness. Light bodied with fine carbonation. Light bery juice sweetness in the finish, dry bread, light bitter hay. Subtle blueberry pancakes. Nothing wrong here but pretty uninspiring overall.
