Bottle from Beer Central, Sheffield. Clear, very dark, reddy brown. Halo of tan head. Ground hazelnut. Milk chocolate. Light, roast malt. Coconut (milk), right at the end. Taste is dry. Light bitter. A light saltiness, in there, too. Smooth, milky palate. Fruity, rising bitter finish. A tad odd.

Bottle at home, from Hippo Beers, 06/06/14 - Happy Birthday Brendan ! Batch 0062: Citra Columbus. Lightly hazed golden orange with a well appointed off white head that dissipates a little then digs in and keeps you company. Nose is tangerine, light pine, grass, mandarin, pulped mango, toasty malts, light grapefruit - a splendid cocophany of citricana for just 3.3%! Taste comprises citric sherbets, chalky mineral rinse, orange pith, mandarin, grassy twang, doesn’t quite live up to the nose but pleasant none the less! Light to medium body, fine carbonation, semi drying close with juicy hop bitterness. Splendid showing Weird Beard, loads of flavour in this little number, such as welcome change after all the twiggy bland nonsense I’ve had this week whilst spending a night in the provinces!

Bottle shared by Joes @ weekly tasting. Hazy orange color, full sized white to off-white head. Aroma isn’t entirely fresh it seems, but there’s still a decent hoppyness there. Tastes about the same: malts, hops, bitter, but all a bit old imo. And actually not a double IPA anyway. At least it doesn’t taste like one.

Bottle at home from sourced Market i think. Opaque dark brown / black with a medium thin tan head. Aroma is earthy roast malt, blackberry and mixed hedgerow fruits. Some chalky mineral and dark choc in the nose as well. Flavour is big bitter roast coffee, roasted barley, bitter dark choc with some jammy berry fruits playing backing roles. Lingering slightly harsh bitter finish. Palate is chalky mineral, some milkyness, dryish finish. Big bold bitter stout.

Hazy gold beer, big fluffy white head. Palate is airy and crisp. Light pale malt, touch grainy. Pithy orange hops, thin and a tad bitter. Light dry finish. Lacks the usual clean feel and brightness but okay.
