Keg at CP&K. It pours cloudy deep brown with a small beige head. The nose is wood, earth, vanilla, toasted coconut, juicy dark fruit and cocoa. The taste is earthy, dried fruit, boozy, leather, light spice, charred wood, ash, burnt notes and dirt with a warming, dry, earthy finish. Medium body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. Aroma is rather nice, but let down by the taste...

Cask at CPK - London. Pours cloudy orange with a slight, creamy off-white head. The aroma holds lots of ripe fruits, orange, mango, melon. Medium to big sweet flavor with sweaty and well ripened fruits, bready malts, melon, orange, hints of oily pine, alcohol. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Good and resinous to finish with lightly toasted bread, juicy citrus, oily pine. Pretty hefty stuff overall but still quite drinkable for the ABV.

Cask at CP&K. It pours hazy amber with a small white head. The nose is pine, varnish, resin, orange, tangerine, grapefruit, brown bread and earth. The taste is earthy, resinous, toast, spice, stewed orange, grapefruit, pretty bitter, brown bread and decent alcohol kick with a bitter, warming finish. Med+ body, fine carbonation and oily mouth-feel. A bit rough around the edges... Big for sure, but I would prefer it to be a bit cleaner. Still decent enough.

Cask at CP&K, thanks to Leighton. It pours hazy golden amber with a small white head. The nose is boozy, earth, spice, hay, leaf, dried fruit, pear and melon. The taste is oily orange, big booze aspect, earth, spice, hay, icing sugar, over-ripe stone fruit, dough, touch of unami and decent bitterness with a very dry, warming finish. Full body and fine carbonation. A bit boozy for my liking. Decent for the style, but the style tiself is far from my favourite...

Cask at CP&K. It pours hazy golden yellow with a small white head. The nose is juicy orange, tangerine, mango, earthy, light spice and hay. The taste is juicy orange, tangerine, light toasty/roasty notes and earth, with a dry, earthy finish. Light-medium body and fine carbonation. Not a massive amount of coffee, which is a good thing. Interesting stuff.

Cask at CPK - London. Pours cloudy gold with a fine, creamy white head. Nose has some pithy citrus up front and filter coffee in the background. Light sweet flavor, some more pithy citrus, a bit of dirty coffee, mild white bread. Light in body with fine carbonation. Light coffee and subtle roast to finish, a bit of semi-ripe citrus. Pretty nice coffee nuance.

Cask at CPK - London. Pours. Loudy gold with a large, frothy off-white head. The aroma holds lots of yeasty bread, orange and lemon. Big sweet flavor with lots of doughy bread, slight bitter grass, plenty of ripe citrus fruits. Full bodied with aveage carbonation. Slight dryness on the finish but still lots of lasting, sugary bread, touches of yeast, subtle lemon peel, ripe orange. As you would expect from a tripel this is a big and sweet beer. Pretty drinkable, though, given the style.

Aroma: Lime, hard candy, lychee and pine.
Appearance: Murky amber body with a medium off-white head that holds well. No visible carbonation.
Taste: Passionfruit, satsuma and a pronounced lime flavour (the Amarillo hop really is immense). Hint of sweet Belgian yeast with barely any note of the 7.5% ABV.
Palate: Medium to full body with an oily texture. Soft carbonation.
Overall: A really unusual, tasty beer. I love the balance between the sweet yeast and malt and the citrus hops. I’m not sure why it’s listed here as an American Pale Ale when the bottle says it’s a Belgian IPA.

Bottle from Sourced Market, St Pancras drunk at home watching the Ashes 2013. Hazy amber colour with thin lasting beige head. Some sweet malt but then the hops kick in which are lovely. Good bitter finish. Good fresh green tasting hops. Some floralness. Good beer. Yep maybe just a touch too sweet for me. OK.
