(Kiev 2016) Drank most of a 1500 ml. PET bottle over several days. I still don’t understand why sometimes some kvass is listed on RB & sometimes it isn’t allowed. I have been told that sometimes they are allowed if they have some minor alcohol but don’t they all have some minor alcohol in theory? Either way White Kvass is a very new phenomenon in Ukraine, I was very surprised to see it. I cannot say that this one really won me over. Hazy lemonade, not to sweet, some fermenting wheat & bread qualities, comparable to a non-alcoholic Hefe in some ways, faintly lemonade sour, low chemicals,… The more I kept in the fridge, the more it started to ferment, decent hybrid taste between an okay lemonade a low alcoholic Hefe. Lively lemonade body. I still see Kvass as a lemonade and not a style of beer as such it is hard to rate here. Okay largely - a bit too chemical & industrial as all bottled kvass for me.

Der Beginn ist deutlich brotiger als süß. Damit süffig und harmonisch, spät minimal säuerlich, angenehm getreidig. Gefällt. 6/8/9/8/8/8

At a tasting, thanks ery little head, hazy lemonade like color, aroma of bread and dough, flavor of honey, lemon and bread, light sourness, very light sweetness. Quite drinkable and pleasant in a strange way.

Plastic bottle sample at a tasting at troubles’s place. Thanks Stas. Cloudy chemical pale color, like sparkling lemonade. Aroma of sour vegetables, lactic and citric acid, and a rye note. Sweet flavor with sugar, lemonade, some tart citric acid, cardboard. Light-bodied.

Plastic bottle sample at a tasting at Vova’s place. Thanks Stas. Clear amber. Aroma of lots of honey, molasses, caramel and some bread. Sweet honey-ish flavor with caramel, light acidity and some bread. Light-bodied. Quite clean and not too offensive.
