Clear golden pour, large white head.. Light citrus, sharp cereals, grassy with light pine notes. Dry finish, lovely bitterness. Fantastic table beer. Would love to be able to have this daily.

nice yellow/orange color.
smells strong, but on your palate its not. very smooth. some subtle spiciness, and hoppines. should cellar well.

I cant say i was that impressed with this, I guess i was expecting more. Wasn;t much in the arom just alot of malt. flavour was surprisingly bitter, and dry. Maybe a bad bottle?

On tap at CBC, Clerkenwell on 25th February 2025. Slightly hazy gold with dense collapsing white foam and full lacing. Spicy citrus aroma. Rich and spicy malts and citrus in-mouth and a finish of spiced fruits. Medium bodied with an engaging texture.

Hatalmas, hófehér, örökké tartó hab, kissé opálos, arany szín. Gabonás, malátás, kenyeres, kissé fűszeres illat. Malátás, gabonás, fűszeres, élesztős ízvilág. Könnyű, közepesen szénsavas, alig érezhetően kesernyés. Nagyon finom, frissítő, jó egyensúllyal rendelkező belgian ale.

Aroma of ripe fruits, yeast, bready malts, citrus, some banana, spicy yeast, hoppy notes. Flavour is medium sweet with a moderate bitter finish. Alcohol content is potent at 9.5%, but not overtly noticeable. Carbonation is bubbly. Still the best and most distinctive Tripel ever made. A great beer.

The wonderfully complex aroma consists of dark fruits, raisin, roasted malts. Somewhat wine-like yet malty. Carbonation is rather high. I compared it to the Leffe Brune on an evening of beer tasting (they’re both readily available here), and frankly there’s just no comparing, the Westmalle totally trumps it.

Bottiglia. All'olfatto si esprimono sentori di sottobosco. L'olfatto viene stimolato in maniera normale e l'esistenza olfattiva è sufficiente. Il cappello di schiuma ha una buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è grossolana, con carbonazione abbondante. Il liquido è di aspetto velato. Bollicine medio-fini costituiscono la forma del perlage. Il colore è giallo dorato brillante. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è pronunciato e c'è anche una nota sapida. La forza gustativa è elevata e la persistenza è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. Al gusto vengono donati toni di miele, crosta di pane, frutta secca, un accenno di resinoso quasi balsamico, cannella, frutta passita e alcol invadente.

Bottiglia. Il gusto al naso viene attratto da fruttato e da sottobosco. La finezza olfattiva è elevata e il modo in cui permane è sufficiente. Il manto birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma dalla buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. La frizzantezza si presenta sotto forma di bollicine fini e dal colore scuro impenetrabile. Il corpo è strutturato. L'amaro è nella media. La forza gustativa è elevata e la permanenza è buona. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di birra beverina. Il retrogusto è intenso. L'aroma in bocca porta i segni di caramello, miele, frutta secca, pane tostato, agrumi, banana, frutta passita, caldo, alcol presente non invadente, prugna e pepe bianco.

Il mantello birroso superiore è caratterizzato da una schiuma dalla buona tenuta. La grandezza delle bollicine è medio-fine. Il liquido si presenta velato. Bollicine medio-fini costituiscono anche la forma del perlage, con carbonazione persistente. Il colore è giallo dorato brillante. Il corpo è rotondo. L'amaro è pronunciato. La forza gustativa è elevata e la persistenza è buona. Il gusto è piacevole. Le sensazioni boccali finali risultano di pronta beva . Il retrogusto è intenso. In bocca l'aroma è quello di miele, cracker, frutta secca, agrumi, spezie e lievito.
