Aroma is moderate to light heavy berry, blueberry, blackberry, light to moderate strawberry, oak, alcohol. Flavor is light heavy sweet and light light blackcurrants and strawbeery acidic with a long duration, and a dry tart finish. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - syrupy, carbonation is soft, finish is heavy alcoholic. [20081108]

Growler. My last beer at the throwdown. Big ass coffee nose, with touches of chocolate. Even bigger coffee flavor, semi-sweet thankfully, not the dry thin coffee palate of many coffee stouts. Just alot of mocha chocolate coffee goodness.

Growler at throwdown, courtesy GodofThunder. Huge fresh hop nose: grapefruit, pine and dank. Resiny flavors with a clean bready background. Very bitter finish. Copper color.

Sampled bottle #245 at the Hopsnobbery Collective Stout tasting on 01/16/09. Thanks to Rogueone for sharing. The beer pours black with a medium thin light brown head that recedes to an outer ring fairly quickly. Thick sliding rings of lacing on the glass. Chocolatey aroma with notes of doughy malt and dark fruit. Rich and smooth body with flavors of chocolate, java and grainy malt. The finish is sweet chocolate malt and mildly bitter coffee that lingers a bit. Overall a pretty good Imperial Stout. I learned on Wikipedia that carob can be used to relieve diahhrea in infants and as a non-toxic alternative to chocolate for dog treats, on top of being used in beer.

Hazy amber color. Finally a known aroma from this brewery: good resiny hops, some pepper. Semi-sweet toffee flavor, good body strength, with a very strong hopping, strong grapefruit, some resins. Very good.

Hazy amber color; creamy head. Strong peach aroma, nice even if not expected in a beer. Sweet malty flavor, fruity, luckily the bitternss is not too aggressive to clash with the fruits. Can be pleasant, if you accept the fruit juice.
