Bottle shared at the Hackobock tasting at Craft Islington. Thanks to Kenny. It pours black with a decent tan head. The aroma is rich roasted malt, coconut, vanilla, sweet bourbon, pretty filthy, candy and rocky road. The taste is rich roasted malt, earthy roast, toasted pine, cocoa, dried fruits, rocky road, wood, toasted coconut and warming alcohol. Full body and moderate carbonation. Not a huge amount of depth, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Bottle from Bacchanalia, drunk at home. Dark brown with a wispy cream/khaki head. Intense chocolate fudge, strong peanut notes, boast coffee, a hint of yeast extract. Ambrosial sweet taste with a boozy kick. Lots of chocolate and a hint of woodsmoke. Hop bitterness very detectable in the. Finish. Nice balance. Eggy French vanilla, hot fudge and earthy hop notes round out the aftertaste. I am so glad we found each other.
