Bottled. Deep rubyish brown colour with a mediumsized creamy off-white head, which leaves some lace and lasts for a good while. Aroma is chocolate, some coconut, mild herbal notes with some nutty and slight roasted notes as well. Flavour is chocolate, coconut, some nutty and mild roasted notes. A bit tobacco in the finish too along with the chocolate and roast.

Bottled. Black colour, mediumsized brown creamy head. Aroma is bourbon, some vanilla, mild liquorice as well as some roasted and mild ashy notes. Flavour is very similar, but also has some ripe dark dry fruits and mild syrupy notes to it. Balanced, big and bold. Vanilla gets more evident as it warms up a bit.

Caldera Chocolate Lavender Pink Peppercorn Imperial Stout 8.8% Deep coal black with a thick rocky tan foam that leaves copious lacing and lingers. Very full bodied. The aroma is cake like - that lavender, chocolate and pink peppercorn combine to create something shake or pastry like. The taste has perceived sweetness but isn’t sugary, It delivers the same flavors as the aroma. It paired well with ginger snap cookies that brought out some roast dark malt character. Probably the most interesting beer I’ve had from Caldera.

500 ml bottle from Harry & Davis in Medford, OR. Pours dark gold with a large white head. Aroma of tart mixed tropicals. Med body or so. Flavor is tart, mildly sour. There's blood orange with something like green guava - there's some prickliness that suggests passion fruit. Finishes with some malt that's not all that tasty. Interesting. Different.
