Sampled from bottle at kermis’s. Murky golden white head. Light floral, somewhat milky. Medium sweet and light vegetal bitter. Medium body, soft carbonation. Something’s crisp. I like it. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hip Hop USA on 09 Jan 2018 at 11:20 - Score: 7

Bouteille 33cl, BB 08/10/2018. Ambrée, col beige voire blanc-cassé. Arôme au nez fin offrant de fines effluves de lactose et de chocolat au lait, houblonné plutôt noble arrive en rétro avec un aspect assez UK dans l’usage des houblons. Le Cascade peine à avoir de la place, et on retombe dans le même scénario que pour les autres bières de ce brasseur. Palais est moyennement malté avec des pointes de grillé et une sorte de résiduel doux lactose. Effervescence reste encore une fois trop important pour mettre en avant e manière correcte un houblonnage de type C. Retrouve de ce fait une plus grosse dominance d’un houblonné noble anglais. Sur la fin, je trouve même un côté liquoreux, fudge et caramel. Usage d’autres malts auraient peut être plus aidé Marris/British pale avec Fuggles, why not. Les idées sont bonnes, mais l’exécution est à la traine.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 17/09/2018. Dorée, léger voile, col très épais et indiquant bcp trop d’effervescence, au niveau visuel cela part déjà mal. Arôme vu effervescence et activité de la mousse, les effluves de Sorachi remontent rapidement, de ce côté ça passe. Le rétro-nasal souffre des mêmes maux avec une présence levure et grains trop importante. Retrouve cependant, de fines effluves de tropical. Palais est orienté Sorachi avec petite touche de melon frais, effervescence trop haute qui dénature l’effet du houblon. Malté persistant, touche pils voire Munich, le tout est trop sec et poussiéreux. Amertume plus noble arrive fin de bouche. Exit ce côté belge levure qui pourrit les autres versions dégustées et qui se voulaient houblonnées pour un usage US - qui sauve un peu ce single hop du naufrage.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 17/12/2018 Dorée sur léger voile, col blanc. Arôme au nez assez frais avec des effluves de houblons laissant un relent d’agrumes, et parfum citronné frais, cependant, on peine bcp à y retrouver un signe de Cascade et de Citra, dommage quand on connait le caractère olfactif de ces houblons. Le grains est là avec un côté BE levure qui enlève encore plus des houblons. Palais de malt pils et cara pâle, rétro finement houblonné trop discret et encore une fois éclipsé par ce profil levure belge qui dénature tout l’apport fruité et herbacé des houblons. On retrouve de ce fait une base, sèche, monodimensionnelle orientée vers les malts. Au final, on innove peu et on rempile sur un style IPA d’influence belge qui ne montre rien au niveau des houblons.

Pours dark brown, not black by far. Small white head fades completely rather fast. Smell is sweet, some coffee aspects. Taste is bit sweet, some lactic features, yet not very intensely so. mild bitterness, some coffee aspects, still. Mouthfeel is rather thin, qnd too high on the carbo. Ok in general, though. Not nearly of the same level as the coffee one.

Bottle shared. Cloudy golden with a massive white head. Aroma of yeast, grass, green hops, weeds and banana. Flavour is light sweet and moderate bitter. Light to medium bodied with high carbonation.

Pours very dark brown to black. Good white head. Smell is roasty, some coffee, some roasted malts as well. Taste is very roasty, creamy, dark ( pure ) chocolate sweetness. Some coffee undertone, but not in the aspects I don’t enjoy. Nice intensity. Good mouthfeel, (could be better at 8 abv, but not as bad as that i’d complain about it ) . Very rich, roasty finish. rather easy drinkability. Very nicely done. After the sheer dissapointement the ’porter’ was, this is putting them back on the map for the dark beers ! It makes me curious about the Milk stout which I shall be drinkin’ soon. Very nice beer, this one !

Bottle. Slow gusher. Pours unclear blonde, with 99 % of the glass being quickly colliding foam. Smell is grainy, mild hoppyness. Not very intense, perhaps because of the giant foam. Taste is bit malty, very mild hops. Some plastic notes here. not super intense, but in combination with the foam and mild gushing, this does point at something going wrong here... Next to that, this is far too little hopped to be called an IPA. I’m dissapointed here, since at their start, they made some of the best Belgian hoppy beers around. now they make this... Well, i can only hope quality goes up again in the future. Aftertaste is very metallic.

Clear orange beer, small aery off-white head, little stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: yeast, bit sweet, oxidized, orange peel, bit malty, funky. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: very spicy, grassy, bit minty and soapy, some citrus somewhere in the back. Aftertaste: soapy, bitter touch, floral, some grapefruit, minty. This is no ipa.

Pors very dark, ruby red. White-pink head. Smell is wet cherries. Not super sweet though ( I feared it would be overly sweet ) Taste is sharp, very dry, cherries, as well as some maltyness left. you’d almost think sour ( trough it being so dry ) but it isn’t really sour to me. way better than i feared it would be.
