Pours bit unclear, blonde. Rather small white head. Smell is funky honey, but not really sweet. Bit dry, as well. Taste is bitter, with honey-funk, surprisingly dry. Not sweet, to my surprise. Tastes like very intense water ( I know how this sounds, but hear me out ) with a lot of minerals, palet-cleansing almost, with a very thirst-quenchening finish. the taste really changes troughout the experience, from bitter,to funk, to the mineral-like ending ( Intense water ) For sure, yes, this is a weird-ass beer ! I was warned so by Bernt, and he was 100 % right on that. Body and MF are agreeable. The funk is só not my thing, I would not like to drink this again. But on the other hand, its so interesting, and unpredictable, that you just want to take another sip, just too see if you can believe what you tasted before. Very interesting !

12/XI/15 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: 1/VIII/17 (2015-1557) Thanks to Beerlover_Ben for picking this one up for me!

Clear orange to amber beer, nice creamy yellowish head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: very sweet, banana, sugary, ever so slightly fruity touch, floral, little soapy. MF: lively carbon, actually way over carbonated, medium body. Taste: bit sourish, lots of yeast, bit medicinal bitterness, caramel malts, bit medicinal. Aftertaste: lots of banana, lots of yeast, bitter, unpleasant, bit metallic. Double ipa? Is this a joke? It's just a hoppy tripel with a very Belgian yeast profile. Not a bad one, mind you, but definitely not a double ipa.

Pours unclear blonde. Small white head. Smell is hoppy, aromatic, bit bitter. reminding of eastcoast IPA’s. Taste is bitter, very grainy, very aromatic hops. Somewhat sweet, mildly bitter. Only negative point I can make is the intensity of this one being to low, but damn, this is one of the best IPA’s I ever drank in Belgium ! Easy drinkable, good body and mf and just the perfect amount of maltyness in the taste ! Amazing !

Sampled 330 ml. bottle @ Modeste 2015. Quad inspired by Westvleteren 12. Dark reddish brown, small tanned / mocha bubbles for head. Nose is sweet prune syrup, caramel, date syrup, sweetish caramel, very thick BE-style syrup,… Nose is sweet herbal bark, faint bitter character, sweet wild herbs, some cough syrup, quite heavy sweetness, touch herbal, very big sweet syrup BE-style,… Body is syrupy but a bit thinner than excpected for the syrupy quality of this one. Decent but heavily sweet, tad simple. Good but not awesome. Nice for a new brewery for sure.

Sampled at Modeste 2015. Pours clear, dark brown, good white head. Smell is sweet, taste is thick, rich, sweet, cramel, some dark sugar ( lots ) some earth. Notes of dark fruits. Fairly complex, but insntantly recognizable as a westy clone, why not make your own beer that stands out ?
