Cask at the Wellington, Brum. Pours very dark brown with a small head. Aroma is roast coffee and a touch of liquorice. Taste has coffee to start and a dry roast finish. Touch of porridge.

Cask (handpump) @ NWAF 2013, National Winter Ales Festival, The Venue, Sheridan Suite, Manchester, England.Clear medium to dark amber color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, toasted - caramel, rubber, fruity, moderate hoppy, grass, fruity. Flavor is moderate sweet and light moderate bitter with a long duration, grassy, caramel. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft to flat. [20130124]

Hand-pulled pint in Ye Olde Fighting Cocks, Oakengates on 17th feb 2014. Pump clip has Lowry’s painting of the Mill, hence the beers name. Pours a light amber to gold colour, the head off-white and full. Bready yeast and malt feel to both the nose and taste, good hop interjection within the flavours: fruity notes arrive mid-sip, a pleasant if unchallenging blend. Medium bodied with a slightly drying finish.
