On tap at Spinnakers, pours a clear copper with a small beige head — odd colour for a Flanders Red. Aroma brings out red wine barrels, moderate tannins, and low acidity. Flavour reveals some nice red wine tannins, oaky wood, and even some bugginess. Very low acidity, which is nice. I'm really happy with this.

On tap at Spinnakers, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out butterscotch—not diacetyl—with caramel corn, subdued vinous notes and even more subdued English hops. Flavour reveals this to be more of the beer it's advertised as; there's lots of English hops, some resins, red wine tannins, and oak. It's always a strange decision to barrel age an IPA, but I'd say this one works — nice subdued English hops give way to the malt and red wine profile. Surprisingly good.

On tap at Spinnakers, pours a hazy pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma reveals a bitter piney hop character, some chaotic sugars all over the place, and biscuity malt to back. Flavour matches this—the balance is off; the hoppy bitterness is pleasant upfront, but it's the malts that kinda throw this off. Off-kilter and rough. Okay.

On tap at Spinnakers, pours an opaque bright hot pink with a medium white head. Aroma brings out fermented honey, subdued tart raspberries and lacto. Flavour brings out semi-fermented out honey, low-to-moderate sweetness from the honey, and a touch of lacto underneath. For a kettle sour, this works well, as the honey — somewhat fermented out — works well with the raspberries to add depth. Good stuff.

Bottle found in Victoria a couple months ago, simply labelled Oyster Stout, 7.5%abv and 20IBU. Barcode 690039011371. Pours with a dark kind of reddish-black body and very modest beige foam, smells of soft sweet barley but not of any excitement. Flavour is some dried sweet coffee, simple, and a little thin. Pretty mediocre, no idea where the oysters went, but I'mma keep watchin' these Star Trek movies on a quarantined friday night.

Pours with deep copper and very modest foam, smells of moldy couches from the 1970s in a dingy basement suite in northern Surrey, British Columbia. Flavour is overloaded hazelnut and sugar and more candied caramel, all cloying and lingering on the tongue. Vaguely drinkable if you're in a pinch but pretty harsh actually.

Smells of good deep piney hops and a hint of smooth oat, pours with nice foam and deepish medium clear brown body. Flavour is nice malt and pine character, oats maybe, resiny. Mouthfeel is full and good oiliness. This is decent and good balance, full and nice to drink.

Pours with an excellent beige foam and a clear deep burnt sienna body. Has an aroma of good simple malt character with no sign of the alcohol. Flavour is smooth barley, not overly sweet nor cloying and the alcohol is invisible. Mouthfeel is warming and full. This is a nice barleywine, not as high alcohol as others but nice to drink though also pretty simple.
