My final Friday night beer was a plum porter, my first Saturday morning beer is a plum porter, which begs the question...do I have a plum porter drinking problem? No problem with this soft and easy textured brew. The plum is good in both aroma and taste as it is not too sweet. Hazy brown appearance.

Cask at Picture House, Stafford. Pours a very dark ruby with a small foamy cream head and excellent lacing. There’s roasted malts and rum soaked oak barrels in the aroma. In the mouth it is sweet and juicy with flavours of roasted malts, liquorice, barrel aging and some vanilla. Hints of dried fruit later as well. Finish is slightly boozy. This is quite nice.

From the cask at JDW Mossy Well in Muswell Hill. Pours a clear, dark mahogany with a tan head. Flavour is quite sweet with notes of roasted malts, lactose and vanilla. Not much aroma. Mouthfeel is a little thin. A slightly sweet and thin porter, but not bad.

Wetherspoon Spring Beer Festival 2026, Beer#15. Extremely dark reddish brown with a bit of a glow. Gritty enough tasting roasted notes with its sweetened bourbon influence evident, however not really gritty as it's got an easy drinking texture. Vanilla notes light but evident.
