Bottle @ Baziel, Gent. Murky brown colour, creamy beige foam. Medium carbonation. Sweet with notes of raisins, plums, stone fruit. Some toast and caramel also. Light bitter finish. Well balanced. Very good beer.

The blonde counterpart of Boerken, also made for Den Ouden Advokaat and packed in the same swingtop bottle but with different print. Cloudy peach blonde tripel with thick, frothy head and estery profile with malt sweetness, some DMS, peach and orange, soft with dryish and bitterish finish with some warming alcohol. Decent but stereotypical.

Commissioned beer in a swingtop bottle made for Den Ouden Advokaat, an eggnog making company in Sint-Niklaas. Deep bronze colour, dense creamy head, malt sweet, caramelly, estery, some DMS in the nose; spicy yeastiness, smooth, a bit chocolatey, some warming alcohol in the finish along with herbal hops. Okay, but nothing out of the ordinary.

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours blonde with decent white head. Aroma is sweet and spicy, continuing to the taste with a good dose of citrus. Perhaps a little sugary in parts but still a nice beer.

Nice swing top bottle. Clear deep amber color, a lot of bubbles, big foamy beige head, slowly collapsing with good lacing. Aroma sweet malty, dark fruits, plum, caramel, yeasty, nutty notes (almond, chestnut). Taste light heavy sweet, slightly bitter, caramel, fruity and spicy notes, bit yeasty. Full-bodied, oily to sticky texture, average carbonation. Sweetbitter aftertaste, fruity, woody, herbal and spicy notes. A beer like a meal, quite complex but in balance.

330ml bottle from Vanuxeem. Pours chestnut brown with decent off-white head. Taste is on the sweeter side of things with fruitcake, warming alcohol and a slight spiciness coming through. A delicious beer!

33 cl. swing top bottle @ home, gift from Hilde. Dark brown with an off-white head. Malty nose with some dark fruits. I don’t really know why this isn’t listed as an abbey dubbel because it is a typical dubbel, albeit a bit more spicy than the average one.

Nice swing top bottle. Hazy deep golden colour, two finger frothy white head, good retention and thick lacing. Sweet fruity aroma, yeasty, candy sugar, peach, some alcohol, citrus. Taste medium sweet, slightly bitter, fruity, spicy notes. Full body, creamy texture, average carbonation, finish mild dry bitter, light fruity notes, alcohol.

Slightly hazy golden with big white head. Some marihuana on the nose, haha. Sweet malts, spices, grassy, hemp, some dried apricots. Quite sweet, with tart finish. big alcohol presence, bit syrupy and full bodied. Meh.
