Description
In 1858 Timothy Taylor began brewing beer in Cook Lane in the West Riding town of Keighley. He clearly struck upon a successful formula for in 1863 he set up and built a larger brewery at Knowle Spring, where the company has remained ever since.
The superb spring water that wells up from deep under the Pennines is still used today to produce the country's best traditional cask ales.
The brewery remains in the Taylor family and is now the last independent brewery of its type left in West Yorkshire. This independence enables Taylors to survive as one of the few brewers still brewing true cask ales in the same way it has always done."Taylor's Taste" is achieved by using only the finest natural ingredients, taking pride in the brewing process and allowing full time for the ales to ferment and mature, thereby creating a unique family of beers.
We have come a long way since 1858. Our beers have won many awards and worldwide acclaim. This is seen within our product range.

Cask@Winchester Gate, Salisbury. Darkish amber color, small off-white head. Crisp and same time papery malty nose mixed with dried fruits. Fruity (dried fruits), bitterish, sort of strong lager feeling here. Balanced and drinkable but uninspiring.

Cask at the Ferrands Arms, Bingley, 19-05-06 Golden in colour, refreshing and a good session beer, good hops, not bad but served a bit too ice cold to be really appreciated A6 A3 T6 P3 Ov11 2.9 Had this again Cask, handpump at The Port Mahon, St Clements, Oxford, 14.05.12 whilst attending a gig by The Lovely Eggs Pours golden with a white head, good clarity, really good nick. Perhaps a little simple but refreshing and despite the lack of hops or bite there is a pleasant mellowness and soft bitterness going on, more enjoyable than I recall hence the re-rate. Cask at the Brown Cow, Bingley, 19-05-06. Dark in colour, fruity roasty but a little dry, a pleasant beer. Had this again one year on at The Brown Cow, good maltiness, and sweeter than I remembered but 3.3 this time.

(Cask at Dog & Duck, Soho, London 23 Apr 2006) Amber colour, not much head. Nose is malty and fruity with grapefruit and oranges. Taste is initially malty, with fruitiness that builds into a nice hoppy, citrussy, dry, long finish. Beautiful, well balanced with a nice hop character.

Golden amber with orange hues, and a thick receading off white head with lacings. Classy herbal British hops aroma, a bit peppery. In mouth, crisp biscuity malt, dry, with good hops bitterness, sustained and enjoyable! Reminds me of the St-Ambroise pale ale. Bought about a year ago, in London (Waitrose) forgotten in my reserves....this beer keeps well. Actually BB date is Jan 2006, so confirmed!

(bottle) Orange-amber coloured hue with a mid-sized off-white foamy head. Buttery floral and herbal hoppy aroma with grape-fruits and English marmalade. Very dry and bitter hoppy taste, combined with fine fruity notes (grape-fruits) and a balanced maltiness (butterscotch) in the background, aromatic and lasting dry, bitter and herbal hoppy finish. This one is really a pleasure. Thanks to pivnizub for the bottle !
