9th Nov 2016: 330ml bottle between four at the monthly Shrewsbury beer exchange group meeting in Chez Sophie. Cheers Mat for my second Cambodian rating. Looks like so many lagers/pilsners: clean and clear light golden body, swiftly fading snow white head. Tastes like so many lagers/pilsners: sweet corn and grainy with a slight bitterness in the finish. Nothing wrong with it if you like that sort of thing: I don’t.

Alkoholischer Geruch. Oxidiert malziger Antrunk mit herben Beinoten. Die Malzigkeit verschwindet erstaunlich schnell, trocken brotig, laff. Mehr oder weniger kein Nachgeschmack. 7/6/7/5/7/6

330ml bottle into lager glass. From Porters Liquor, Bexley. Aroma of grains and cardboard, maybe a little pepper. Pale yellow beer with sudsy two finger white head. A little lacing. Lazy little bubbles ascend. Good body. Initial light malty sweetness makes way for a slightly grainy finish with a little tin right at the end. Not bad, you could drink a lot of these on a hot Phnom Penh night.

Bottle at Brew, Beers and Ciders, Sukhumvit. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken off white head. The aroma is toffee caramel sweet malt. The flavour is moderate sweet with a smooth sweet sugary malt, light fruit palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A real sweety, perhaps too sweet, but it’s nice to see something other than a Pilsner being brewed in this part of the world.

330ml can. Pours red-brown with a small foamy head. Aroma is not like any stout (foreign or otherwise) that I have tried. It smells more like a strong lager, malty with notes of port and dark fruits. Taste follows the aroma: sweet, port-like and slightly boozy. A one-time beer... which I have another can of.
