Light amber coloured with a thin fluffy head; fruity nose (honey, balsamico); quite fizzy; sweetish and flat; only a tinge of Lambic influences can be felt; no long lasting sweet-sour aftertaste. Gueuze for beginners.........

Bottled 375ml (BB 06/2006)
Deep red color with huge red creamy head, lace. Not very strong earthy cherry aroma. Sourish cherry juice flavor, slightly earthy. Medium-bodied. Finishing to sharp tartness. Dry aftertaste. More or less ok kriek but not very complex. (6/4/7/3/13 3.3) Bottled "Original Kriek" 375ml (BB 09/2009). Courtesy of bierkoning, ty Edo! Clear pinky red color, good cherry reddish head, lace. Cherry caramel aroma with light tartness. Light sourness in otherwise sweetish kriek, notes of cherry stone. Mouthfeel is a bit thin. Should be more tart. (7/3/7/3/13 3.3)

375mL bottle, BBD 2004. Upon uncorking, I am greeted with a very relaxed dusty, dry barnyard aroma, with hints of honey, sweat and hay. The light funkiness is quickly passing, however and it turns to a caramelized sugar sweetness, with hints of cider vinegar-like oak notes. Orange-copper color is deeper than I expect for a gueuze. Guess they are pretty serious about the sugar they list as an ingredient. Small, dissipating white head and a pathetic amount of sediment at the bottom of the bottle.

Flavor begins with an oakiness that is sweet and simple, red apples, touch of vinegar. Then it takes a turn for the worse and gets insipidly sweet. This tastes like simple sugar has been added. Refined white table sugar, some caramelized notes, but altogether cloying, simple and little to no tartness on the end. Slightly syrupy, medium body. Stale, tired gueuze flavors are all drowned in sugar. I’m surprised this isnt listed as a Faro. Glad I got to try this though, thanks to Tiggmtl!!

Clear-gold, collapsing small white head, leaving fine lace. Artificial peach nose, the filling of pastry. Sweet fruittaste with a little sourish edge, just enough o make it refreshing; bit bubblegum flavour, and a faint woody finish. Still mainly artificial, I’m afraid. Light body, slightly tart. Not really thàt, bit feminine. At least, it’s refreshing.

Bottle, Archer Ale House

Despite being billed as unsweetened, sugar is listed on the label. Hazy orangey colour. Appley, woody, bretty aroma. Flavour is tart, with woody, leathery, bretty notes. Balanced tartness - this isn’t Cantillon - and overall a pretty decent gueuze.

I can almost copy my rating for mort subite cassis. Just replace the blackcurrant for peach (esters). Alright, the color is also slightly different. Instead of purplish red, this is more golden orange. Which ester do you like most? The peach one is not my favorite.

Slightly hazy red to purple color, medium head. Aroma of sweet artificial fruit, blackcurrant, some marzipan. Sweet taste like most of the mort subite beers, and to this one they added a bunch of blackcurrant esters.

Bottle. Very acidic aroma. Yellow colour with stable white head. Very acidic flavour. Sort of apple acidity. Seems quite one-dimensional to me.
