(Draught at Beer Temple, Amsterdam, 18 Sep 2016) Reddish amber colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of caramel, red fruit, hints of smoke and anise. Malty, fruity taste with caramel, candy sugar, red fruit, orange peel, a touch of chocolate and a gentle spicy bitterness in the finish. More than medium body, with a certain sweetness. Fairly complex, but well balanced and tasty. Quite nice.

Draught at BA Return of the Belgian Beer Fest, 9/17/16.
Lightly hazy, bright marigold-golden body is topped by a medium-sized, well-retained, white head.
Lovely acidity mixes with plastery yeast with very rustic minerality. It’s funny I just had del Arboles the night before this, as this is coincidentally another phenomenal use of pine (the fir tips). In neither aroma nor flavor is it overdone, and adds a light juiciness, spiciness and just all around bright, green character. Add to it that this has dandelion, another easily overdone ingredient, and it’s pretty impressive, all told. Light tartness, wheat dryness and perfume-like herbal/spice character on the finish. Quite elegant and the adjuncts sit in the background.
In the mouth, it’s got a soft, wheat-and-biscuity-malt-like texture, with tight carbonation and a high attenuation. Light citrus, yeast and light fir tip acidity collect on the end, with delightful minerality and lots of hay/grain-like character. Elegant, and soft through the middle, with bright, tart, crisp notes on the finish.

Bottle. Pours a orange copper hue with a small white head. A big funky nose, citrus gin and fruit. The flavor is very smooth, peaches, big gin, no alcohol shown, a bit tart at times. Funky husky dry earthy malt base. Very good.

Mostly clear golden with a fizzy and lasting white head. Aroma and flavor are full of the elderflower, spice, floral, citrus, and some mild pepper. Soft flavor profile overall. Finish is sweet pineapple, more herbal notes, and a bit of pepper burn. Pretty good beer.

Sample at the taproom. The beer is a hazy pale golden color with a medium white head that evaporates steadily to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of tropical fruit, hops and bready malt. Light-bodied with flavors of grassy hops, fruity yeast and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a grassy hop and fruit aftertaste. Decent overall.
