From tap at The Commons, Portland. Aroma is grassy hops, slight herbal notes, nettles, soft touch of tropical fruits. Flavour is barely sweet with a firm herbal hoppy bitter finish. Body is medium. Nice if you dig a healty dose of herb in your IPA.

From tap at The Commons, Portland. Aroma is lots of oak and Brandy, sweet grapes, darkish malt, yeast, dried fruits, sweet and a bit boozy, caramel toffee, and notes of figs. Flavour is quite sweet with a hint of tartness. Body is medium to full. Big and enjoyable heavy sipping beer, nice barrel notes.

From tap at The Commons, Portland. Aroma is rye malt with tons of ’christmas spices’ and apple pie spices including cardamom, cinnamon, nutmeg. Flavour is rather sweet with an astringent touch. Body is medium. Too heavily spiced for my taste, but not a bad brew.

Crystal clear coloured body with a nice set of bubbles, all rising from the bottom, underneath a big billowy pure white head, that's three to four centimetres tall. Aroma of light lemons, citrus fruit, subdued grassy and herbal malts with a kick of lager yeast and a dash of biscuity notes, but the fruit drives the scent here, for sure. Light-bodied; Very crisp lemony and citrus flavour show at first and present an easy-going, but still flavoured beer with a good crisp set of biscuity and slightly grainy malt aspects, but the yeast finally hits and leaves some softer doughy and bready notes, but the crispness is here to stay, at the end, especially. Aftertaste is dry, grassy, floral and pairs well with spicey food, given how refreshing this is, especially with the lemons and citrus as well. Overall, a very nice, super crisp and easy-drinking, but flavourful beer with a bunch of crisp lemons and fruitiness, but more malts and lager yeasts make this easy-drinking and enjoyable, especially with all the carbonation! Great to sample while eating good food! I sampled this sixteen ounce, pint-sized can, purchased at [the namesake] AFURI Ramen & Dumpling Restaurant in [downtown] Portland, Oregon on 27-March-2021 for US$7,00 while on vacation with my family, eating Ramen noodles, traveling from Portland to San Francisco by way of the Redwood Trees during Spring Break 2021.

The Commons Biere Royale Sour Ale with Black Currants 5.5% The color is maroon with a light pink foam, it kind of made me think of Orine juice. The aroma is huge jammy black currants. Quite full bodied but finish very dry with a raspy carbonic bite. Nice acidity and a much softer take on black currant in the flavor than the punch it gives in the nose. Tasty.
