Cask gravity at SIBA BF, Paddock Wood. Gold. Slight tea flavour. It’s alright, nothing special, some harsh citrus. Some grassy hop. Bit dull.

[on draught at Lyndhurst Ale House, Reading] An old school bitter - brown with a long lasting beige head. Deep earthy bitterness dominates with some malt. Bitterness grows to obliterate everything else & leaves an unpleasant aftertaste.

Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, toffee. Flavor is moderate sweet and light to moderate bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. (040508)

Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, caramel, toffee, moderate hoppy, metallic notes. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. [i] [b] Cask at The Bell, Aldworth leg 5 of the Thames Tipple (Goring to Wargrave) 14-06-08 [/i] [/b] Dark amber, even maybe reddy brown looking on closer inspection with a small white creamy head and stunning clarity. Some light vanilla punctuates the otherwise malty nose. Vanilla again come to the fore in the mouth but this is generally quite a fruity beer with a leisuerly bitterness, very nice but not a good as the Grigwell.

[i] [b] Cask at The Bell, Aldworth leg 5 of the Thames Tipple (Goring to Wargrave) 14-06-08 [/i] [/b]This pub was a sort of ’Brucie Bonus’ not actually on the itineray but well worth the three mile detour from Streatley to get to it, a stunning pub in every way, the pub deserves [i] [b] 10/10 [/i] [/b] Beer poured light amber with excellent clarity and the tiniest rim of white bubbles. Soft and fruity with a nice undercurrent of bitterness, finisihing a little dry, this was very, very nice indeed.
