Description
The organic brewing project of Gert Jordens, official since 2010 but active as a home brewer since 1999. Originally the beers were made at the Proefbrouwerij but production moved to Anders (and sometimes Strubbe) in 2013. One of the very few Belgian brewing companies which produce only organic beers; hops are exclusively sourced from Joris Cambie's organic hop farm in Poperinge. Exports 22% of its production, primarily to the Netherlands.

Lacy yellowish head over hazy amber beer. Sweet, rosewater-like nose; just smells sticky! Taste is better: leafy, bready, like a German Dunkler Doppelbock. Finish is even dry. Medium to well-bodied, long, ever so slightly sticky feel and aftertaste, but not cloying. The nose made me fear the worst. The taste is actually quite OK. Belgian top-fermenting Doppelbock?Earlier Rating: 11/17/2010 Total Score: 3.7Beautiful foxy-chestnut coloured, clear beer with an amber-beige, huge head. Very bready/leafy/earthy sweet-sweetish nose, with some bananaester, smelling for all the world as a "Dunkler Bock" or "Dunkler Weizenbock". Spicy-strong flavoured, sweetish beer with lots of melanoidins, sweet & roasted malts, overripe banana and other grains. Finish has some faint bitterish, earthy notes, without losing its spiciness ane sweetness, caramelsyrup-like, if not cloying. Well-carbonated, rather well-bodied, alcoholwarming. Decent balance, decent beer. But IMO certainly not a French Bière de Garde, but a Dunkles Doppelweizenbock. Maybe top-fermented, but a Bock nonetheless.

15/XI/12 - 75cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ home - BB: XI/13 (2012-1274)

Little cloudy orange to pink beer, big solid creamy head, stable, bit adhesive. Aroma: very fruity, red forest fruits, bit sweet. MF: lots of carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity start, red forest fruits, raspberries, other fruits, very fresh, bit of citrus, bitter hops. Aftertaste: still fruity, little bitter, hoppy touch, citrus, red fruits, lemon drops. Really well balanced! I bet a lot of girls who now drink the overly sweetened kriek beers, would like this better.

Droog mondgevoel. Balans tussen zoetigheid, bitterheid en kruidigheid. Gebrouwen met biologische Poperingse hop, ongeraffineerde rietsuiker en een kleine hoeveelheid knoflook. smaak is in het begin zacht met een vervelende bittere smaak, welke verder in het biertje wat minder wordt, echter blijft in de na/afdronk weer terugkomen. niet mijn favoriet --- Beer merged from original tick of TRPL on 15 May 2018 at 21:02 - Score: 5

26/X/2012 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ Klaas' place - BB: 14/VI/14 (2012-1180)

Clear yellow to light orange beer, small aery white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: bit sweet, sugary, spices, bit cheesy, grass and herbs. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sweet start, bit sugary, citrus, bit dusty, alcohol is clearly noticeable, bitter hops, grassy. Aftertaste: some citrus, hops, bitter, little sweet. I remember in the past I was able to detect chives, but not this time. Wonder if it's still brewed with garlic.

Draft @19de Internationale BierHappening, Zottegem.

75cl bottle from Hopduvel shared with Tomaz.

Towering, very light pink and variably bubbled head over fully hazy pinkish amber beer. Very demure nose. Bit spicy, maybe some green (unripe) berries. Faintly fruity with fruitacidity. Impossible to say which fruit. Wheat seems to come forward. Quite slick, velvety and very carbonated. Trials @ Cantillon decades ago showed that blackberries have little to deliver aroma- or flavourwise, even little colour. Proven again.

Pours hazy gold into a tulip. White head with good retention recedes leaving spot lacing to crater surface. Sweet caramel and vegetal aromas. Soft and thin with caramel upfront turning mildly pepper before the lasting toasted malt finish.
