(Draught at Delirium Tap Bar, Brussels, 19 July 2012) Pale golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty, fruity nose with peaches, grass and grainy malt. Malty, fruity taste with notes of peaches, grass, herbs, tropical fruit, grainy malt and a grassy, floral bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a certain sweetness. Nice one.

Draft @ Delirium Brussels.

Light amber colour with a white head. Fresh and light acidic aroma. Moderate sweet flavour. Some acidic fruity notes. Apple? Maybee a little bit to much alcohol coming through.

Bottle listed as Maya Blond (6%, 33 EBU with a best before of 01/07/12). Pours with a mostly clear, very pale blond hued body with a very small white head. Aroma of seltzer water, very mild malt, clean, and bland with very mild DMS. Flavors show some DMS, a touch of fruity esters, light malt notes. Medium dry, average carbonation, lighter bodied with a dry finish. Forgettable.

Botlle (Jessenhofke Tafelbier) at home, with a steak and salad. Nice, soft, smooth and tasteful beer that works great with a nice steak. Nothing special, nothing crazy, just nice and good.

19th May 2012: 0.75 litre cork and caged bottle, well in date, poured into three glasses. Lager looking brew, clear and crisp with a slight haze in the last glass as a minute amount of sediment managed to leave the bottle. Thin white head added to the lager/pilsner appearance. The nose was subdued: light hints of bread and yeast with a sprinkling of malt. The taste was boring: a dry and bitter finish didn’t help the overall experience at all, sadly it didn’t even start off well. Weak and a little thin body wise also. Let’s just say we didn’t get on too well and I’ll not be having another.
