Batch 1, rated on 08/24/2012. 22 oz. bottle, courtesy of julian (thanks a lot man!), pours black with a tiny tan head. Aroma of bourbon barrels, oatmeal, peanut butter cups, and some molasses. Flavour of oatmeal, moderate bourbon barrels, and dry cocoa. The bourbon barrels accentuated the oatmeal relatively well, but the whole thing is a little weak on complexity and depth. Quite decent. Rating: 3.7/5
Batch 2, rated on 02/01/2014. On tap at McKay's Taphouse, pours black with a small tan head. Nose brings out rich bourbon, treacle toffee, some cocoa, and vanilla. Flavour is unbelievably complex and rich, with loads of molasses, bourbon, vanilla and treacle toffee. They must've re-worked this recipe, as this is a totally different beast to the first batch (bottle) I had. A decadent, round, elegant barrel aged impie stout here. Simply one of the best. Rating: 4.8/5
2025 release. On tap at Fremont - Columbia City, pours jet black with a tiny tan head. Nose is full of intense bourbon barrels, vanilla, rich toffee, and more bourbon—damn. Flavour is exquisitely complex, with huge bourbon, light vanilla, toffee, and dark sugars. Wonderful barrel character, rich malts, just enough sugars. A work of art. 4.6/5

Bottle, wax dipped thanks to Alex. Pours a dark brown color with a medium beige head. A big sweet bourbon nose with some milky chocolate and roast. The flavor is super mellow and big with loads of cocoa, sweet vanilla, bourbon or course, woody, brown sugar. Very refined and tasty. I could drink quite a bit. Nothing harsh.

22oz bomber pours clear copper with gold edges and sort of light tan head of foam. I smell a little tart to resin as well as vague hoppiness with mild malt sweetness around the edges. The taste begins with a firm sweet malt base but then slightly citrus notes and a resiny hoppiness seem to have no problem elbowing through the malt sweetness. I get a good dose of hop flavor and lesser amounts of resiny hop bitterness. Pretty nice brew.

Golden colour, white head. Aroma of hops, malt, tropical fruit, candy and fresh cut grass. Bitter hoppy flavour, quite fresh. Bitter fruity finish. Nice.

Bottle sample @ 2nd RBBSG, August 11th 2012. Courtesy of Ajax25g.

Amber color, creamy head. Very nice malt aroma, malt mash. Nice malt flavor; the bitterness is high, the hop gives just a light citrusy touch.
Don’t expect much of a West Coast style beer, just a good old IPA.
