Description
Fremont Brewing was born of our love for our home and history as well as the desire to prove that beer made with the finest local ingredients β organic when possible --, is not the wave of the future but the doorway to beer's history. Starting a brewery in the midst of the Great Recession is clearly an act of passion. We invite you to come along with us and enjoy that passion -- because beer matters.

On tap at Fremont, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma brings out vanilla, followed by coffee and roast. Flavour is the same, with a lush mix of vanilla, coffee and roasted malt. Very well-balanced, silky and smooth. Very rich and heavy. Great stuff.

2012 maroon wax top bottle shared at the RBNG by Phatdog1. Awesome aroma of cocoa, roasted malt, cinnamon, vanilla, dark fruits with a beautiful bourbon barrel oak on top all of those aromas.
Flavor is just as rich and lives up to the aroma! Deep elegant bourbon notes ingrained with the rich dark chocolate, graham cracker, coffee beans, and a little wood/oak character in the backend. hints of spice in here as well.
Overall this Barrel aged Strong Ale drinks like an imperial stout. Body is thick and creamy with a velvet smooth character. I feel like I need to take a flight out to Seattle. This brewery produces really wonderful barrel aged brews.

12 oz can, thanks brenn79. Aroma is grapefruit, lemon rind, piney. Pours hazy golden with a large long-sustaining cream-colored head that leaves curtains of lace. Taste is crisp and clean with all aroma descriptors firmly in place. Body is perfectly thin, mouthfeel is creamy, finely carbonated. I wish this was available in the summer. It would be perfect for camping. I could slam many of these down in hot weather.

22 ounce bottle into snifter, bottled on 2/26/2013. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy orange amber color with a 2 finger dense cream colored head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of orange peel, tangerine, lemon zest, golden raisin, candi sugar, light caramel, biscuit, toast, light pine, floral, grass, herbal, and floral/toasted earthiness. Very nice aromas with good complexity and balance of pale/bready malt and citrus hop notes; with good strength. Taste of orange peel, tangerine, lemon zest, golden raisin, light caramel, candi sugar, biscuit, toast, light pine, floral, grass, herbal, and floral/toasted earthiness. Light floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of orange zest, lemon zest, tangerine, golden raisin, light caramel, candi sugar, light pine, biscuit, floral, grass, and floral earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice balance and complexity of pale/bready malts and citrus/earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying sweetness after the finish. Medium carbonation and medium-full bodied; with a smooth, fairly slick, and slightly sticky mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is a damn nice American Barleywine style. All around good balance and complexity of pale/bready malt and citrus/earthy hop flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering.

Bottle shared by Skyview. A simple beer in a style that can be boring. Bitter hop aroma and hops in the flavor, balanced by malt.

Can shared by Bob. Lightly sweet malt and some alcohol, and the hop presence is noticeable. Solid beer.
