Description
In 2022, we decided to join forces with Siphon Brewing and start a new brewing site in Michelbeke, in the heart of the Flemish Ardennes.

330ml can via Beer52, assume it's the 2019 version as Cinnamon and Coconut are mentioned on the can and it's 5.4% ABV. Drank at home on 7th December 2024. Tanned topping on a black body, dry with a spicy coconut feel, all a bit subtle but there non the less.

Pours a clear, medium dark blond. Very little, almost none, foam. Scent is very mild. Crystal malts , whiff of herbal hoppyness. Very low key. Taste is very hollow, straight up NA recognizable. Mild crystal maltyness that builds up and for sure provides nearly all the aroma here, but they seem rather dull, stale, and boring. A sticky sweetness that is common in NA beers, but even more so pronounced here than is average. Hops are very hidden. Just a touch of bitterness, barely any aroma. This sure is below expectations...

29/VII/24 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent), shared @ Ardennes Holiday, BB: 26/III/26 (2024-631)
Clear very pale whitish to light yellow mead, no head. Aroma: yeasty, lots of bread yeast, smells a bit like saké upon pouring, then after standing a bit some honey, a little fruity. MF: ok carbon, medium to light body. Taste: soft acidity, a bit lemony, fruity notes, some green apples, a bit yeasty, floral notes, a bit soapy. Aftertaste: zesty, grapefruit, a bit lemony, sourish touch, zesty, lots of orange and lemon flavoured candy.

Goed fris bier.

Explosive gushing to a glass full of varied bubbled dirty white foam, and a bit of dirty orange beer. Fruity esters, mainly as grapefruit, bit ureum and a bit of caramel. Faint solvent, DMS. Bitterish water, faintly fruity. Long-lasting bitterness, fruity and metallic. Light, overcarbonated, unrefined. This is not a session IPA, but a nablab in form & character. Session IPAs can be really tasty and wonderful, this is neither. Pity. From Dranken Goegebuer, Knesselare
