Bottle picked up at Trafalgar Wines, Brighton. It pours cloudy pale gold with a small white head. The nose is fresh, tropical fruits, juicy, pineapple, sour tangerine, peach, Um Bungo and sherbet. The taste is crisp, tart, bright, lemon sherbet, sour pineapple, grapefruit, lime rind, earth and light acidity with a dry finish. Medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Juicy, fruity and tart. Tasty.

Stupendous! Liquid dark fruits, with great balance between sour and saltiness.

330ml bottle from Beermerchants

BBE 19/2/19 - Pours orange with a massive foamy head. Aroma of funky yeastiness, fruits, oak, wood, bretta and lactic notes. Taste is funky, woody and fruity with some yeast, hints of bretta and tartiness. Finish is yeasty, woody and fruity with hints of hops and grass. Interesting, not your typical bretta IPA. A bit messy though.

330ml bottle from Beermerchants

BBE 23/01/16 - Pours orange with a thick foamy head. Aroma of perfume, berries, caramel, yeast, earthy notes and sweet ripe fruits. Taste has perfumy notes, berries, ripe fruits, caramel, toffee and sweet yeastiness. Finish is stuffy, earthy and yeasty with some grassy hops, perfume, glue and berries. Messy and quite strange. Can’t get past the perfumy notes.

Bottle from Cornelius. Hazy golden body with a thin quite head that quickly fades. No lacing. Aroma of lemon zest, tonic water and fresh rain on concrete. Flavour of lime, tangy lemon, Granny Smith apple and minerals. Thin body with a lemonade texture. Lively fizz. Decent.

God knows what happened to my rating of this.... Bottle thanks to Finn & Rune. It poured jet black with a decent light tan head. The nose is bitter - sweet, rich roasted malts, earthy, umami and liquorice. The taste is pretty similar to the aroma, roasted malt, earthy, bitter - sweet, umami, sour mash, touch of dark fruits, liquorice and cacao nibs with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Good body and well-rounded. A good dark lagerbier.

330ml bottle @ Chez Sophie, Shrewsbury. Pours hazy orange, white head. Aroma is peach and citrus. Taste is crisp, tart with an initial burst of lemon curd, mellowing to calm citrus tone. Great sour.

thnx to Anna and Adam. Pours black, small grey head. Smell is chocolatty, bit salty. Taste is slight sour, dry, salty, dark malts, in a sharp, bitter way. nice, but not as unusual as I expected.

Black beer with a thin, filmy head. Smell is tangy, salty. Flavour is similar though after the initial hit of that it does get a bit of a roasted, malty follow-up. The aftertaste has a bit of the malt and an almost wine-y finish to it and because I don’t like that initial flavour on the tongue too much I find myself swallowing very quickly to get to the finish. I’m not sure if it’s this particular beer or the style but this isn’t for me.
