Beerslayer said it all. Tons of coffee in the aroma, but some vegetable aroma as well. Black beer, big brown head. Flavor mostly of coffee with some chocolate mixed in. The most coffee flavor I have had in a beer.

An unclear red beer with a fine beige head. The aroma is sweet malty with notes of roasted bread and yeast. The flavor is sweet and very hoppy both with aroma hops and bitter hops - which gives it a rather bitter finish. A great beer.

A pitch black beer with a chocolate brown head. The aroma is a little sour, a little smoked, and a littel sweet. The flavor is fantastic; smoked, chocolate, coffee combined with a little sourness. It ends on a note of coffee. The sourness draws down in my overall rating of this beer - so that it is only good in my world.

Pours dark, cloudy brown with a big fluffy white head. Flavor is malts, toffee and nuts. Flavor is not as bold as it could have been. I would clasify this as a better newcastle.

Nice, deep garnet - chestnut brown color. The aroma is well balanced, malty, not overpowering. The 8% alcohol is totally hidden as this goes does smoothly. Maltiness stays all the way to the finish. Thanks to Slikwily for sending this for me to try!

Cloudy dark amber; aroma of maple, allspice, molasses. Very sweet body, mapley with a big back bitterness. As the hops don't show much in the aroma or flavour, just in bitterness, the flavour is not cohesive. It will be a great one, in a few years, but right now it's too young to be better than decent.

Pours like texas tea. Black gold. Little dark brown head. Aroma is chocolate, malt and you can get a nice whif of the hops. Taste is roasted malt then the alcohol hits you. Very heavy on the tounge but smooth all the same. This is a brew for sipping by the fire on a cold day. Very tasty, complex and one of the best of its kind.

Caramel and berry nose. Cloudy brown, creamy head. Sweet caramel flavor with slightly artificial tasting berries. Surprisingly light body, hides strength well.

Perfumed hoppy nose. Cloudy brown with a creamy brown head. Aggressive molassis and caramel notes, surprising that you can taste hops at all. Alcohol burn is quite evident. Sports a somewhat unfortunate medicinal note when exhaling. Solid body, sticky mouthfeel.

limited sample. Burnt aroma dominates. Completely black, low creamyhead. Somehow I couldn't really become friends with the flavor profile, all I got was a burnt wood taste which stopped at a surprisingly light body and petered out into a ashen aftertaste. I don't know, must be me or the small sample....
