Oakham Ales is a multi-award winning brewery with a worldwide reputation for its innovative approach and for the quality and consistency of its brews. Oakham started brewing in Rutland back in 1993 and is now based in Peterborough (Cambridgeshire).
Famous as the first brewery in the UK to brew a beer with 100% Citra hops, Oakham celebrated its 25th anniversary in October 2018 and weโre looking forward to many more exciting years of brewing.

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Almost clear gold beer, small pale cream colour head. Smooth palate, semi dry, reasonable fine carbonation. Smooth pale malts, sweet. Nice honey. Decent rich citric hops, rich marmalade jammy citrus. Light semi dry floral finish. Not bad at all.

Can at the Briar Rose, Bingo-Cotts Convention, 08/07/23. Hazed golden orange with a decent off white head. Nose is orange zest, grass, melon, grapefruit. Taste comprises bitter orange, grapefruit, pine needle, citric tinged straw, grass, airy malts, mandarin. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, light drying close spiked with juicy hop bitterness. Tidy sessioner.

Cask at The Ealing Beer Festival 2023, Ealing, London. An orange/amber coloured pour with a medium white head on top. Hoppy, citrus, orange, grapefruit taste and aroma. Quite bitter but decent enough red ale.

Clear pale gold with a creamy/frothy white head. Light malt and a touch of fruit on the nose, grapefruit bitterness and floral hops on top of a light and fruity malt backbone, smooth and semi-creamy with a dry bittersweet finish

440ml can from JDW William Withering, Wellington. Drunk from the can at the train station. Bubblegum citrus coming through quite strong, nice appealing sweetness. Probably beer of the evening.
