The Lyric. Cask. Lightly hazy amber beer, small pale cream colour head. Palate is light and semi dry, modest fine carbonation. Malts are light with a little creamy toffee. Hops are mildly spicy with touches of pine and citrus. Light semi dry finish brings mild esters. Pretty serviceable amber, reasonably well balanced.

Cask at Lyric, soho. It pours black with a thick, bubbly tan head. The nose is salted liquorice, earth, umami, roasted malt, light cocoa and a hint of smoke. The taste is bitter, rich roast, toasty, liquorice, coffee, cocoa, earth, tar and molasses and mild acidity with a lingering dry, roasted finish. Medium body and soft carbonation. A solid stout by all accounts.
