Tap at ’Mercato Metropolitano’. Cloudy, yellow-ish, pale golden colour with small, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Citrusy, hoppy aroma, notes of grapefruit and lemon, a touch of pineapple. Taste is citrusy hoppy, notes of grapefruit and lemon, a touch of pineapple, mild rye spiciness in the background.

Keg tap from the Express Tavern, Brentford. Golden yellow, cloudy, some visible natural carbonation. Small white ring of head, and lots of lacing. The juicy grapefruit hops compete in the aroma with the rough spiciness of the rye. Sweetness on the tongue is followed by considerable hoppy bitterness, which lingers throughout the long finish. Heaviness of the rye lies on the tongue. Thin body is lifted by heavy carbonation. Much more complex and interesting than the average golden.

Cask. Klare goldene Farbe. Geruch mild nussig hopfig bitter. Geschmack mild hopfig, leicht nussig, Karamell. Langweilig.

Cask at Express Tavern, Brentford. Golden amber colour, white foam head leaving lacing and floral hop aroma. Taste is malt caramel, alittle biscuit, with floral fruity citrus hop resin, hint of blackcurrant and some bitterness. Light bodied, soft carbonation, dry mellow bitter finish. Quite drinkable.

Keg at The Lyric. If pours hazy gold with a small white head. The aroma is fresh, juicy, orange tango, straw, floral, candied peel and dull spice. The taste is crisp, bitter, floral, spicy, bitter orange, kumquat, waxy peel with a dry orange citrus finish. Light - medium body and fine, prickly carbonation. Pretty nice actually. Grew on me.

Cask at The Lyric, Soho, London. A black coloured pour with a healthy creamy beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, vanilla aroma. Tastes the same slightly roasty, malty, chocolate, vanilla, quite sweet and creamy. I really enjoyed this sweet stout from Big Smoke.
