On tap at the Holiday Ale Festival. Pours a deep cloudy brown color with a large brown head. A light nose of toffee, some caramel. The flavor has a robust hop profile, some medium bitterness, caramel, toffee, very dry, a bit of dark chocolate. Quite solid.

22 oz. bottle, pours a hazy orange with a one-finger width creamy white head. Aroma is very pungent, with loads of tropical fruits, intense citrus rinds, and wood. Flavour is very similar, with a very robust profile of citrus rind, citrus hops, lots of tropical fruitiness, and only a slight hint of the bourbon barrels. If you're going to barrel age an IPA, this is how you do it - leave the hops in tact and just accentuate the flavours with the wood / oak / liquor. Most excellent stuff.

Bomber from whole foods. Pours a clear copper color with a large white head. A fresh fruity hop nose. The flavor is excellent with fresh fruit with big oranges and lemon. Resinous with pine and medium bitterness. Really good iipa.

Can shared at the Tuesday Night Horal Chugging Tasting - London. Big thanks to Colin and his hook-up for this rare can. Pours black-brown with a tight, tan froth head. Nose of creamy chocolate and lightly tangy dark fruits. Medium sweet flavor, a little boozy, with more creamy chocolate, ripe berries. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Moderate warmth to end with a bit more creamy chocolate, ripe berries, some roasted malts. Alright.

Can in the Room 316 Tulip tasting, Bodegraven, 27/09/13 bath tub chilled. Hazed golden amber with a thin off white head. Tarteish fruit on the nose, peaches, orange, grain. Taste comprises orange pith, grass, light apricot, more peachyness. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, doesn’t offer the refreshment I’d expect for the style in the finish. Average at best.

Can. Nice design. Pours a clear golden color with a large white head. A sweet grainy nose with some lemons and light fruit. A great flavor: bitter hops, marmalade, sweet lengthy bitter finish. Refreshing. Maybe it’s the Maize, but the earthy base is cool. Bitter lemon rind. Super clean. Really grew on me. MJ’s rating of this beer is epic.

16 ounce can bought at a local grocery store. 4 pack for 9 bucks. Not bad considering they were bombers. Actually a good deal. Pours a bright orange color with a large white head. Big sweet fruity nose. Great flavor: marmalade, orange peel lengthy bitterness, light toast, big orange almost bursting through, leaves with tons of bitterness and resin in the tail. Really subtle in ways that Pliny is. That is, balance along with huge dominant bitter hops. Actually the more I have this the more I think it tastes like Pliny. A bit lighter but similar. Simcoe is huge. Excellent job.

On tap at Bailey’s Taproom. Astoria..bonus Goonies points. Hell, Kindergarten cop wasn’t terrible. Not Goonies good, but not terrible. Arnold was pretty likeable in that movie. Pours a nearly black color with a medium off-white head. A big sweet roasted coffee and pine hop nose. The flavor is more coffee, with big bitterness, some light fruit, but more solid bitter hops balanced by sweet malt and coffee. Toasty. Good.
