Description
Fort George Brewery + Public House sits on the original settlement site of Fort Astoria, founded in 1811. The oldest US settlement west of the Rockies, Fort Astoria was the Pacific Fur Company's primary trading post in the Northwest. Fort George opened its doors to Astoria as both a brewery and a public house, and that desire to serve the community continues to this day. The brewers and pub staff here share a common goal, to create a welcoming space where anyone in town can pull up a stool and enjoy a pint and a bite to eat. We take pride in our house-made offerings and our hospitality, and we’re always looking for improvements that bring us one step closer to perfection. It’s a goal Sisyphus could appreciate, even if he doesn’t have as much fun pushing that rock as we do rolling those kegs. And that’s why we like to call Fort George beer the best beer you’ve had today. Tomorrow it will only be better.

MBCC 2025, Yellow Session. A hazy bright golden yellow beer with a white lacing. Aroma of fresh juicy hops, yellow fruits, yeast. Taste of stone fruits, yeast, apricot, mild bitterness.

Can. Pours a totally clear orange hue with a small to medium white head. A big nose, perfume and light citrus. Sweet, oily, lots of perfume, mild citrus bite. Very smooth.

On tap at MBCC 2025, yellow session. Pours opaque yellow with a white head. Citrus pith and chalk on the nose. Flavour has citrus peels and pith, weak body. Poor.

Dark Dark brown. No head. Big marshmallow and vanilla on the nose. Thick, a bit of that pbc2 but it’s washed out by bourbon and chocolate. And vanilla, lots of that. Burly, not entirely refined, but it’s very good as one expects from Fort George.

Pale and slight haze. A fair bit of bitterness. There’s some cool hop but fuck me the citra is a bit too dominant. Ok malt. So it’s good but 8
I really hopes these breweries would let the good hops out but nah. Citra fucks up an otherwise good beer, as always. And it’s a bit sticky too.

I get pistachio and cocoa a lot on this. Then a big vanilla finish, with boozy bourbon and sweet rich chocolate. Dark brown, big aroma, excellent as always.

Dark brown, big vanilla depths. Fat tangy bourbon, chocolate. Strong, straight down mainstreet with the flavours but I'm okay with that.

Pale, a bit of citrus, a bit of onion. Clean, tasty IPA, as usual from Fort George.
