Description
Fort George Brewery + Public House sits on the original settlement site of Fort Astoria, founded in 1811. The oldest US settlement west of the Rockies, Fort Astoria was the Pacific Fur Company's primary trading post in the Northwest. Fort George opened its doors to Astoria as both a brewery and a public house, and that desire to serve the community continues to this day. The brewers and pub staff here share a common goal, to create a welcoming space where anyone in town can pull up a stool and enjoy a pint and a bite to eat. We take pride in our house-made offerings and our hospitality, and we’re always looking for improvements that bring us one step closer to perfection. It’s a goal Sisyphus could appreciate, even if he doesn’t have as much fun pushing that rock as we do rolling those kegs. And that’s why we like to call Fort George beer the best beer you’ve had today. Tomorrow it will only be better.

500 ml bottle, thank you Clarkvv on the share! Aroma is bananas, chocolate and coconut. Flavor is rich with coconut throughout. Banana and chocolate finish. Bourbon is here just enough for balance. Shows Elijah Craig pretty decent presence. ABV not shown. Very good!

Pint can. Candied apricot aroma with notes of pineapple, mango, tangerine, grapefruit and some pine resin. Pours clear golden colored with a large white head that has excellent retention and lacing. Starts with juicy pineapple, mango and tangerine flavors. Finishes smooth but a touch dry with candied apricot, grapefruit and pine resiny hop flavors. Excellent.

16 oz. can, pours a clear pale golden blonde with a small white head. Aroma has a very melony hop character, plenty of dankness, some oily resins, and pine. Flavour has gentle dankness, fresh leafy hops, oily resins, lightly bitter pine, and some doughy malt. Assertively hopped, yet not particularly bitter. Super balanced and easy-drinking despite the hop bill. Excellent.

On tap at Bottleworks, pours a cloudy yellow with a small white head. Aroma has soft, doughy malt, giving way to fresh leafy hops, grass, and light pine. Flavour is clean, with lots of leafy, piney hops, doughy malt, and grassiness. Clean, well-expressed, way above the hazy standard.
