Shared with Josh during our trip to Festival of Dark Arts 2026.
Aroma: intense brown sugars, American oak, mix of coconut and chocolate with fruity (can't catch the bananas in particular) notes.
Taste: along the same lines, intense, bold, complex.
Overall: very good.

Dark brown. Ok, the botanicals are pretty strong on the nose. On the palate, it has some decent herbal bitterness, with decent chocolate notes, and some fruitiness and vanilla from the barley wine. I'm getting the sense that the base is really good, the botanicals aren't helping - it kind of comes across with a candy cane vibe, but they are doing things.

500ml @ SF shared with almost full gang (missing two biggest guys only).
Aroma: noticeable gin barrel notes, creamy, American oak, some roasted malt notes.
Taste: complex with barleywine and stout notes being noticeable with gin adding to the complexity.
Overall: surprisingly it somehow works! 😲

16.9 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma is unusual, with plenty of botanicaly gin barrels, bourbon character, dark sugars, and some roast. Flavour is quite sugary, with plenty of dark sugars, some roast, gin botanicals, some residual bourbon, and some plenty of booze. Though the gin dominates the nose, it’s very integrated, and melds well with the bourbon and sugars. This is weird but it works.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Very dark brown with minimal light beige head. Gin barrel on the nose and lingers over top with some underlying bourbon barrel notes, nice stout/bw blend with some dark sugars, lots of interesting flavours that somehow work nicely together.

500mL bottle. Pours very dark brown with a small beige head. Loads of bready malts, bourbon barrels, and a nice botanical edge on the nose. Flavour has plenty of dark sugars, loads of bourbon barrels, nice malt profile, and some very interesting botanical accents throughout. This actually works quite well, very fun beer to try.

Draft at Here's How. Hazy yellow pour, thin skin of white foam, lacing coats the glass. Soft, citrusy aroma, grapefruit, pineapple. Taste is zesty, grapefruit peel, tangy. Some of the citrus zest lingers on the palate. Very approachable.
