[At Dr. Bill’s afterparty after GABF 2004 - 7 years old] An unclear dark red beer with no head. The aroma is sweet and dominated by cherries. The flavor is sweet with notes of cherries and wood and an extremely dry end. Lovely.

(bottle, brewed anno 2004) Dark reddish brown colour with a small creamy off-white layer. Aroma of dried fruits (raisins and prunes) and molasses. Very sweet flavour, also sweet malty and sugary taste with hints of fruitiness and caramel. Although the alcohol is perfectly hidden by its immense sweetness, this one is way too sweet for my kind of taste.

(bottle, brewed anno 2004) Golden colour with a small frothy white head, quickly diminishing. Sweet malty aroma with notes of citrus and peach. Bittersweet flavour, malty and fruity taste. Nice finish of bitter lemon peels. Good alcohol management, not ostensible but heartwarming. Nice !

(Bottle 33 cl) In my version known as "Kasteel Bier Gouden Triple D’Or". Holy shite for a beer. First a touch of sweetness, the an overwhelming, dry spiciness lasting the whole way through. Dry more than bitter. Extremely complex and refined. The king of tripels? 210496

(Bottle 25 cl) Had this 5 years past expiry-date. 5% ABV. Very dark, very dry with a light body - both in alcohol and mouthfeel. Very nice thirst-quencher. Some weird black currant in the palate.

(Bottle 25 cl) While sweetened, commercialized gueuzes can often be a pleasant experience. That is much more rarely the case with the sweetened, commercial gueuze-based fruit-beers. Nice pale red colour, very sweet, very fruity and fresh to some extent. Nice aperitif before it sickens you. 040993

(Bottle 25 cl) Beautiful amber coloured with a rather fizzy head. Thin body but beautiful sweet and sour flavours. A commercial and sweetened gueuze but very pleasant indeed. And a good way to start if you’re not familiar to the style. 290893
