Sample at Daily Growler UA. Pours a slightly hazy yellow-gold color with a medium thin white head that burns away quickly to a wispy film. Spotty lacing. Citrus, hops and malt in the nose. Light to medium body with flavors of blood orange, grassy hop and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short citrusy hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Bomber from the Woodland Nugget. Pours bright copper with a white head. Aroma is lots of fruit, some earth and some lightly roasted malt. Also it’s a bit like grain dust. Or a vegetable stem. Or ? Med body. Flavor is a rather different grain, could be a touch of rye. Something spice? Plus fruit. Maybe some buckwheat? There’s citrus, but it’s not quite the usual. Anyway the flavor is a bit different from what I’ve been drinking lately, and it’s quite interesting. Oh, and it’s nicely bitter and pretty well towards dry. Good stuff.

GBBF Day 2. Cask. Lightly hazy amber beer, no head. Palate is light with good fine carbonation. Light malts, moderately sweet. Dried fruits. Touch of orange peel. Light finish. Fine but nothing special.

Smokin Joe’s, Pittsburgh tap: pours orange with a white head. Aroma is orange and hefty malt. Taste is not very bitter. Crappy aftertaste. Not good.

22oz bottle pours out a orangish amber topped with a sand head. Nose is big caramel malt sweetness some citrus and pit fruit. Taste is more of the nice rich caramel malts well balanced sweetness and a light hop.

Tap at Ted’s. Orange-gold with a fine head. Nose of minerals, grapefruit, a touch of caramel. Quite simple. More citrus in the flavor. A decent, simple golden ale.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, best before 11/10/2016. Pours fairly crystal clear golden orange color with a 2 finger dense and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Dense soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a moderate amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of blood orange, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, lightly toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Nice aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/pine hops, blood orange, and light-moderate bready malt notes; with good strength. Taste of big blood orange, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, lightly toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine/grassy/citrus peel bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of blood orange, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, pine, lightly toasted bread, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops, blood orange, and light-moderate bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and zero lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium-high carbonation and medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp/sticky/resinous, and fairly creamy/grainy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 6.5%. Overall this is a very good fruited IPA. All around good complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/pine hops, blood orange, and light-moderate bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and quite refreshing to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Nitro tap. Opaque black with a fine off-white nitro head. Chocolate nose, a bit candy-like. Sweet chocolate flavor, dark chocolate bitter finish. Smooth, nitro works ok. Decent but too sweet.
