(Bottle) Pours black with ruby hints and a big dense tan head. Wonderful complex aroma - port, burnt toast, orange hints. Medium body, with good carbonation. Taste is a very nice balance of dark roast malts and fruity bitter hops. There’s coffee, dark chocolate and burnt toast balanced by raisins, and citrus. There’s a pleasant bitterness in the finish. Very nice - complex and interesting whilst being very drinkable.

Can. Pale orange with a white head. Aroma is of moderate quality Euro lager that hasn’t travelled very well: grainy, a little cardboard, some lemon. 5 So goes the taste. Some apple too. Bland and tired. Bitterness is low with some pepper at the end. Quite watery. Poor.

Schooner on tap at Pyrmont Bridge Hotel (as East Coast Draught). Pours a clear amber with a thin lasting head and medium carbonation. Nose has hints of grain and lemon. Medium body with a short finish that has a touch of lemon and a bit of doughy malt. Not bad, basic but quite acceptable quaffer.

Taster at Beer Deluxe Barangaroo. Cloudy amber with thin white head. Many tiny bubbles. Creamy wheat nose. Fizzy mouthfeel, neutral at first then heeyyyyyyy! Melon, melon and more melon. There’s a bit of hop bitterness in there too. Wouldn’t want to drink too many but fun as a one-off.
