Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a large dark tan head. The aroma was bitter, dry and roasty with a light floral hop presence. The flavor was tangy, sour and bitter with a moderately roasty and toasty element and a hint of molasses and licorice The finish was shortish malty and molasses. Solid.

12oz bottle in Columbus, OH. Gold with a thin off-white head; honeyed aroma; strong herbal hop flavours, with an underlying caramel sweetness; somewhat lacking in finish. More an APA than an IPA. DIsappointing.

12 oz bottle. Slightly hazy amber with a loose cream head; slightly spicy citrus aroma; fresh citrus flavours with good bitterness and some spice towards the finish. Very pleasant and refreshing, but not a typical wheat beer.

I was shocked to find this in Yamaya in Kyoto for a cool ¥198! All the way from Rochester! A very well balanced, light pale ale with a good dose of both caramel malt and hops. Nothing to walk a mile for, but a good session beer and great value. I also like to support High Falls, one of the last remaining old independents (Genesee) that is mostly owned by its employees now.

Bottle from Sondra. Amber color with a frothy beige head. Malty aroma. A bit watery with moderate carbonation. Flavor is malty, and there’s some bitter. It’s really rather drinkable, considering it’s bottom fermented. AB take note. A lager can have flavor, even if it’s made in America.
