Overly spiced aroma. Too look at this beer, you would think it’s slightly darker than the typical american beer. Perhaps it is a little hazy. Too much spice in an otherwise dark tasting beer. Certainly spice, veggie or herbs going on. Finish is overdone holiday beer. Difficult at times. Happy bullshit, almost triggers my gag reflex, many times over.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark caramel-golden color with a huge fluffy yellow-white head that lingered. The aroma was tangy, sour nut with a hint of vegetal malts. The flavor was sweet, sour, tangy and bitter with a light vegetal malt undertone. The finish was long, tangy and sour with a touch of caramel. Interesting.

Pour is a amber with a soapy white head. Aroma is deffinatly hoppy with some mild malts. Flavor is just not hoppy enough to get me excitied about this. More of the crystal malts come out then the hops used. Deffinatly not a hop bomb but it was a cheap six at only $4.99.

Bottle: Bright copper pour with a smaller beige head. Nose is floral and citrus hops with some maltiness. Flavor has decent floral hoppiness and retains a little malt backbone. Just a bit soapy. Still easily the best of the JW Lee’s series.
