bottle - Pours light amber with a thin head. It has a decent, moderately hoppy aroma. The flavor is a fairly well balanced caramel malt and hop interaction, though it’s a little too thin and light tasting. This is alright for a session beer, but you’re better off just grabbing a Sierra Nevada pale ale.

A deep dark porter with a thick moka head. A light sweet chocolate aroma with creamy ice cream notes. In mouth, a light bitter chocolate taste, with a rather buttery cloying finish. Again, at 90 cents a pop, its a decent brew. Bought at CJs, Potsdam, NY, Jan. 2007.

A dark amber IPA with a thick white head, lacing. Goddam, this does smell of hops, and good ones at that! Nice cramel and light c-hops aroma makes this a nice little cheap IPA. In mouth, a lightly sweet caramel malt with buttery notes, good sustained bitterness...by Jove, this is a decent IPA, on par with Boreale Rousse. At 90 cents a bottle, this would be a good everyday beer.

Light roasted nose with a touch of chocolate and coffee grounds. Dark brown color but not much head. A bit sharp and carbonic, with a touch of ashy roast and a nice roast and hop finish. Mouthfeel just a touch too thin and fizzy.

12 oz brown bottle. Pop the lid to reveal an aroma of mild to medium alcohol. The taste is the same, I would say it has more alky content than is listed here. The aroma and flavor is more than average alky. I don’t find much fruityness in the brew. Pours a slight hazy yellow into my steeler stein, but is mostly clear. I know it says unfiltered but I think they did filter out most of the precipitants. Wheat beers are my fave but this is not triggering any real likable qualities about it. There does seem to be some hops in there with the wheat brew. Although this has a real classy label, it is not a real good example of wheat beer. Something like sam addams hefeweizen, but does not taste as good. Much more personality than your typical belgian whitbeir. Not very gentle-man like in its flavor. Finish is coarse and again I think it has more alky % than is what listed. I’ve tasted pale lagers that are more wheatlike than this.

Pour is a dark black with a nice size tan head. Aroma is kinda nice. Some good chocolate malts with some hops showing up. Flavor is about the same. Some chocolate malts with a nice hoppy backbone. Nice, not the the best porter you will have but the best porter you can get for the price. This brewer puts an effort in their brew with a cheap price.

Oh friendly IPA, can I enjoy your style? I’ve tried flying dog, yards, celebration, titan and arcadia hopsmouth. Shall I rate you on the attributes of your soapy style or may I rate you as I enjoy? I’ll make a hop lover smile by saying IPA is more than I can enjoy in beer personality. Even many pale ales are too grape-fruity for me. Since my other ratings on IPA are numbered by how much I like them, a rookie mistake, I must rate this on the same attributes. I got this IPA in one of those variety packs. This is a 12 oz bottle with a twist off cap. Fruity citrusy yeasty aroma, like many IPAs. Pours a little red brown orange (21K) in my poor steeler stein. Very transparent and sterile. Small bubbly head at first with hints of alabaster. Roasty hop astringent first taste impressions. Yes, like any other IPA, bitter swish that hangs on after every sip. As long as you keep drinken, non-stop, the intense flavor can be tolerated. Perhaps a little less viscous than other IPAs I’ve had, but the flavor is there. Surprisingly good palate with low moderate carbonation. Finish is typical IPA, lingering, lasting, terrible medicine flavor that just keeps going…and going. I am by no means an expert when it comes to IPA, however, you should add this to your rate list. Don’t let the fact that this is made by a macro, keep you at bay. You may be startled to find it also has the higher % alcohol that I’ve seen on other IPA.

I look forward to this taste with eager anticipation. I have not been too disappointed with dundees other products. I’m hoping the pale ale will be better than most pale ale’s I’ve encountered. Pours a little darker than your typical pale yellow american beer. Perhaps even a little brown, but definitely transparent. Has the hoppy, slightly fruity, aroma of a good beer that lends itself to possibly be a little more than a simple macro. Upon first taste this beer is somewhat similar to the initial impression I get from weaker IPAs. The IPA impression fades within a minute or two to reveal well behaved pale ale. I don’t think much of pale ales, but I think I am finally beginning to adapt to the hoppy style. This is better than Great Lakes Burning River and is on par with Lancaster Amish and Flying Dog Pale Ale. Flavor of bitter grapefruit peel. Again, this is reminiscent of a mild IPA. I don’t recall the other american pale ales being this bitter. Finish has a slight astringent bite but does not linger for too long.

Brown 12 oz bottle with twist off cap. Pours dark brown, almost black, in my steeler stein. Nice small creamy head that makes me want to touch it. Flavor is a bit roasty and heady. This is like guinness draft on steriods. Finish is a bit malty and it lasts for awhile in a bitter fashion. The only thing I really don’t care for about this beer is its malty finish, not as bad a La Rossa but it is a bit offensive. However, you would never know this is 6.5% beer from the taste, it is much too smooth.
