From the March 2014 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy orange-amber color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was tangy port wine, apple, sugar and bread. The flavor was tangy red wine, apple juice, sugar, tart apple and slightly off bread dough. Medium length finish of bread dough, sugar, apple and red wine. Moderately full bodied. Somewhat disappointing.

Pour is a hazy red with a small white head. Aroma is a big sweet berry. Lots of raspberry and cherry. Flavor is like the aroma more cherry comes out but then a decent raspberry is there. Finish is not too tart but a bit sweeter than you would think. It’s sweet and fruity like a mixed berry preserve so the 9.5 is no where to be found making this dangerous.

Bomber thanks to Dan. Pours a clear copper color with a medium white head. A big rich nose of candied orange jellies. The flavor is very interesting: rich marmalade, tiny bitterness, lemons, sugary sweet almost barley wine notes, more tropical fruit. Oddly this is both smooth and yet huge. I guess the honey dose and heavy late additions (rather than a balanced effort) give it this. For the first time, I’m buying triple IPA potentially. Very good.

Sampled on draft at Hou Thou this beer poured a murky apricot color with a small foamy white head that faded and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was tangy sugar, golden fruits and tropical fruits. The flavor was tangy sugar, bread, pepper, golden fruits, tropical fruit, hot peppers and a bit of cardboard. Long finish that turned a bit dry. Full body. Solid.

Bottle - Vintage 2009 - Milk chocolate, slight soy. Jet brown/black with a decent brown head. Unfortunately there is a bit of booze in the flavour, anise, soy and espresso. Nice and rich.

Bottle shared by Corbit/Jim! Pours near black with a light brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a good amount of vanilla with sweet dark grains, dark chocolate and a hint of raisins. Flavor begins with dark roasted malts and dark chocolate with growing vanilla and barrel notes.
