Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.

We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.

Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

Can from a friend. Thanks Jason! Pours a clearish gold with a huge soapy white head that lingers then dissipates. Pineapple lifesaver candy nose. Super artificial and cloying on the nose. Watery and thin on the palate, no creaminess, no tartness. Very little grain or beer character. Pretty awful.

22oz bottle from 2015 purchased at a discount rack for 2.99. Age doesn't seem to be affecting this. I'm surprised this is a blended beer bc it seems just a simplistic golden sour. Some very spiked axestic acid with a sweet malt character but overly not too bad. I've wanted to really try this for a while hoping for something good but nothing worhwhile.

Bottle from Belmont Beverage, South Bend Ave. Pours hazy gold with a spit-like head. Aroma is tart citrus and a little funk. Flavor is tart stone fruit, green grasses, tropical fruit. Very acidic, probably too much so. High carbonation too... prickly on the tongue. But overall, a decent tasting beer.

Flaska på En Trappa Upp, Örebro. Vintage 2015.

2013 vintage bomber, shared with Michael. Pours dark brown, almost black, with a small to medium, creamy, tan colored head. Tart, black cherries, lemon, yogurt, milk chocolate, and rye. Lightly tart, with a dank bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a creamy, acidic mouthfeel. This is a fun sour, but a bit off. I think I kept it too long.

Keg at Man in The Moon, Stockholm. Clear burgundy colour, minimal head. Neutral, slightly piney nose. Lights bodied with lactic/citric tartness and clean mouthfeel, low carbonation. Lemon, sour milk and pine, notes of fat. Slight resinous bitterness. All around unpleasant, unfortunately.
