Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.

We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.

Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

Bottle thanks to jsquire: Poured a hazy yellow with a white. Aroma very funky. Taste is tart and funky. Very surprisingly good since I wouldnโ€™t have know about them if it wasnโ€™t for Jeff.

Bottle. Pours a hazy orange gold with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is funk, sour fruit, and oak. Thin body, citrus, oak, nice tartness, light gin and juniper, very good.

Hazy light gold pour with a white head and decent retention. No lacing. Light fruit nose. Taste is a bad mix of lousy blueberry flavor and acidic lager.

Thin, poorly carbonated and only mildly sour. Berry balsamic notes on the fade but quickly dissipates into nothingness.

Clearish, nice ruby and muddied brown coloured body with a faintish, two centimetre tall, that fades fast, light tan head. Aroma of sour grapes, a hint of cherries, some oak and yeast along with the funk, but mostly a malty and dry fruity kick in the nose. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong pungent oak and light sour funkiness with the cherries and grapes the most flavourful, coupled with some malt, earth, oak and vanilla, even, but the sourness shows through and itโ€™s slightly elegant. Aftertaste has a relatively mild blend of the yeast, oak, cherries, sourness, funk, malt and a touch of sweetness on the end. Overall, definitely not as bad as I was expecting, but not an amazing beer, either. A good beer that should be sampled if you can find it, and especially if you like sours, since this one comes from THIS side of Vleteren. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), on 01-October-2015 for US$2,25 sampled almost a year later on 23-September-2016 at home in Washington.
