Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.
We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.
Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

Pours a nice clear amber from a bottle, aroma of a nice tart apple cider vinegar, musty basement in a good way. Very tart and musty in the best possible way. Very good beer, might have to buy another bottle to throw in the cellar and forget for a while, see what happens.

Pours a dark ruby-purple from a bottle. Smell is light red wine and cranberry. Flavor is straight up cran-apple juice, with a little oak in there. Weird, very thin. Okay beer.

Clear dark brown with a fine-grained off-white head. The aroma is light cocoa powder. The flavor is roast malts, some chocolate accompanied by a strange sourness that detracts.

Bottle: Slightly hazy dark gold with a small, off-white ring. Strong salted watermelon and rind aroma. Taste is the same...quite salty...very juicy watermelon. Not sure how it fits to style, but it IS rather refreshing and enjoyable.

Bottle, undated, drunk 7/24/16.
Clear golden, light. Head recedes rapidly.
Oh boy. I can smell this beer from a mile away before even trying to. I’m sort of on the fence as to the watermelon character. It’s not saccharine-like but it’s also not overly authentic. Kind of smells like a jolly rancher. Certainly dominating. Only a faint touch of wheat behind it, with little/no lactic character.
Thankfully not as watermelony in the flavor, with more lactic character and good tartness. Wheat texture with full attenuation and light biscuit notes. Watermelon flavor again is just ok. Seems rather novel, not sure I’m in to the fruit. Seems like it would be much better without it.

Bottle shared by Willrunforbeer. Cloudy golden color, lasting white head. Aroma is sour lemons, light malted wheat. The flavor is, wheat and pale malt base with tart citrus. The finish is mildly sour in a lighter body. The carbonation is higher with a lively feel. Not bad at all.

Bottle, thanks Willrunforbeer. Cloudy golden color, lasting white head. Aroma is sour mash, weak fruit, sour wheat. Flavor is mineral water, hints of salt, maybe a melon like hint. Light body with weak pucker in the taste buds. As it warmed up the melon liquor notes gets overwhelming, not in a good way.
