Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.
We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.
Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

Sample at the OTR Beerfest during Cincinnati Beer Week. Hazy reddish-amber color with a medium white head that dissipates steadily to a film. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of tart fruit, yeast and malt. Medium body with a tart cherry character and notes of yeast and doughy malt in the background. The finish is moderately sour with a lingering cherry aftertaste. Good beer overall.

Bottle at the RBWG 2015 Grand Tasting. Pours clear yellow with a light, white foam head. Nice tart lemon character, faintly biscuity, with notes of pale bread as well. Light bodied with spritzy carbonation. Clean on the finish, lightly drying, with a touch of bitter lemon rind to go along with the relaxed tartness. Overall, pretty good.

Bottle. Pours clear golden, medium fizzy white head, dissipates quickly, a bit of lacing. Aroma is watermelon, sour mash. Flavor is light tart, mineral water, watermelon, hints of salt. Light body. Simple, but refreshing.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a thin almost black color with a trace soapy brown head that faded and left no lacing. The aroma was vanilla and brewed coffee. The flavor was vanilla cream, brewed coffee, cocoa and hint of wood and dark fruits. Medium length finish. Medium body and smooth but undercarbonated. Feels like its close to being really good but keeps falling short in every category.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright yellow-gold color with a small soapy white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was sweetish blueberry and grape. The flavor was a bit dusty with cracker and moderate blueberry. Medium length finish. Medium body but a bit flat. My wife liked it more than I did. Meh.
