Description
We are a family-owned, independent craft brewery with taproom and full-service BBQ eatery located in Monroe, Ohio. At Rivertown, we believe in brewing traditional and innovative craft beer and slow-smoking BBQ in a way that encourages connection, and conversation.
We aren't defined by one style of beer, because at our brewery, we brew a touch of everything from traditional, technically-sound, delicate lagers to spontaneously fermented and intentionally blended barrel-aged sours and every style in between. When it comes to our BBQ, we draw inspiration from many different styles, including St. Louis, Texas, the Carolinas, but most importantly, our juicy, slow-smoked BBQ is inspired by our Team's creativity and you.
Rivers have always been the heart of community, innovation and activity; come enjoy our interpretation of a Rivertown, where tradition, innovation and flavor is blended with community, caring and tenacity to create a noteworthy and memorable experience.

Pretty good, I really enjoyed the coffee in this, it had a good punchy flavor, tasted like a good cold brew to some extent, and the vanilla gave it a pseudo-cream element, of course there was a decent semi-sweet chocolatey porter underneath.

Bottle shared at THT July. Hazy dark brown with small beige head. Lots of overripe red fruits, red wine, sour cherries, caramel, soft herbs, oxidized malts. Quite sour and just medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. Not a porter but a nice Flemish sour red.

Bottle shared at the July THT. Very dark brown pour with a thin beige head. Notes of grape and balsamic vinegar, sour cherries, chocolate, light roast. Quite a nice Flanders bruin-like imperial stout.

Shaker pint draft at Rivertown Brewery & Barrel House in Cincinnati, Ohio. The pour is a clear golden yellow with a small white head. The aroma is sour, watermelon sweet and a bit of vinegar. The taste is Jolly Rancher watermelon along with a soft sour, lactic tart and additional rounded sweet watermelon to the finish. The palate is light bodied with fine carbonation and clean finish. Easy drinking, and interesting.

Shaker pint draft at Rivertown Brewery & Barrel House in Cincinnati, Ohio. The pour is a clear golden copper with a small white head. The aroma is a faint citrus, floral hop along with a fresh cereal malt. The taste is a well integrated balance of the floral citrus hops and the clean fresh cereal malt. The palate is medium bodied active natural carbonation and a bit of lingering sweetness in the finish, particularly as it warmed. In the Two Hearted style.

Bottle shared. Thanks John! Pours a dark brown to black with with a small head that lingers. Lots of cured ham and brown sugar in the nose with some tart vinegar notes as well. Coffee hits strong mid-palate with some umami notes. Tart finish with blueberry skin. Quite nice.

Okay vanilla porter, not all that imperial but not the super-sweet vanilla bomb I was expecting, either. Mostly dry, mild chocolate notes with a firm vanilla finish. Pretty terrible nose, homebrewish and sour, but luckily the taste doesn’t follow suit. A bit thin, but tasty.
