Shipped to me by my wife on a trip to Portland. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark red-brown color with a huge foamy tan head that lingered and produced great lacing. The aroma was bready, sweet and fruity. The flavor was tangy, sweetish and malty with light notes of cherry, berry, wood and molasses. The finish was medium length dry malts, cherry and wood. Medium body. Solid.

On tap at TCBF, pours dark amber. This is similar to the Double Danger Ale. Aroma and flavour of sweet dried fruits, caramel malts and quite a bit of sweetness. Very good.

12 oz. bottle, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malt and some chocolate. Flavours of dark roasted malt, followed by espresso and light cocoa. Surprisingly rich and complex - I didn't expect this. Very good.

Bottle. Pours hazy gold with a weak, white head. Plenty of phenols and clove in the aroma. Flavor is sweet with some light syrup, tart fruit and Belgian sugar. Medium in body with fizzy carbonation and mild warmth. Finishes lightly dry and very sweet. An interesting take on the style.

Bottled, from Spokane, WA. Clear dark amber, small head. Aroma of pine and pear. Sweet with some caramel biulding a rounded mid-sized, rather dense body. Long perfumy, resiny bitterness. The hopβs comes across a little bit harsh.

Bottled, from Spokane, WA. Near black, rich head. Grapefruity nose with some coffee. Dryish and fairly crisp, without any edges but with plenty of citric hops. A fairly light bodied, hop centered porter with good late bitterness.

12 oz bottle into Trappist glass. Aroma is Belgian yeast, pepper, old books (thatβs a good smell), crisp apples, some cheese. Complex, but a little subdued. Pours an almost clear gold hue with a dissappearing head that leaves a long-retaining collar of foam and creamy lace. Taste is very Belgian--sweet, peppery, no bitterness. Medium to high carbonation. Seems like a great take on a classic Belgian style. I donβt understand the low scores on here.
