Description
The Abita Brewing Company is nestled in the piney woods 30 miles north of New Orleans. In its first year, the brewery produced 1,500 barrels of beer. We had no idea what we started. Customers loved our beer! By 1994, we outgrew the original site (now our 100-seat brew pub) and moved up the road to a larger facility to keep up with demand.

We brew more than 125,000 barrels of beer and 13,500 barrels of soda of in our state-of-the-art brewing facility. Our lagers and ales are brewed in small batches, hand-crafted by a team of dedicated workers with only the highest ideals of quality. This pride, along with our brewing process, is what creates our great brews.

We are privately owned and operated by local shareholders, many who have been with us since day one.

Varnish, bubblegum nose, volatile. Hazy amber, thin head. Bubblegum.. Medium body, easy carbonation. I would be shocked if there weren't artificial flavorings in this, but it really isn't bad.

12 oz. bottle from Total Wine. Pours a cloudy gold color with a small off-white head and fair retention. Almost no lacing. Very light generic fruit aroma. Basic lager flavor with a weak raspberry finish. Crisp mouthfeel. Clean and smooth. Not bitter. Nothing bad here, just a basic beer with a hint of fruit. It's better than their Purple Haze or Andygator, barely, and that's setting the bar kinda low.

On tap pours out hazy golden topped with a white head. Nose is bazooka bubble gun and that's all. Taste is more of the big bubble gum notes i can't get past that.

Who'd have thought the marriage of two not-that-great beers would result in a not-that-great beer? Mild notes of raspberry, wood shavings, and a little bread rub up against a fizzy texture and a weak, barely-there finish. Maybe it's better on tap?

Bottle from total wine in st pete. Taste and smell is reminiscent of low alky beers. Some veggie nose. Some cardboard on the tongue. Has a very good co2 level on the palate. Regardless of the taste and the nose, it is quite refreshing and I'm enjoying it. You know, when I saw the name and bought it in a rush, I thought it was an IPA but I am pleasantly surprised it was not. Its not bad overall.

Corn, barley malt, and grass/hay aroma. Slightly hazy golden yellow with giant white head. Moderately sweet corn, light citrus, biscuit malt, and mildly bitter grass/hay flavor. Okay body - moderate carbonation.
