Description
The Abita Brewing Company is nestled in the piney woods 30 miles north of New Orleans. In its first year, the brewery produced 1,500 barrels of beer. We had no idea what we started. Customers loved our beer! By 1994, we outgrew the original site (now our 100-seat brew pub) and moved up the road to a larger facility to keep up with demand.
We brew more than 125,000 barrels of beer and 13,500 barrels of soda of in our state-of-the-art brewing facility. Our lagers and ales are brewed in small batches, hand-crafted by a team of dedicated workers with only the highest ideals of quality. This pride, along with our brewing process, is what creates our great brews.
We are privately owned and operated by local shareholders, many who have been with us since day one.

Corn, a little lemon, a little white bread, and a whole lot of nondescript basic beer blandness. It is what it is.

Draft at Coasters. Clear gold color with a small white head. Yes, the aroma is peanut butter and jelly. The flavor is not quite as strong as the aroma. Tastes like a smooth, sweet cream ale. Smooth and clean with a medium body and low carbonation. The 8.0% ABV is very well hidden. Pretty good.

From a 12 oz can. Pours a clear pale gold with a white head. Aromas of pears and citrus. Flavors are subdued mild hop bitterness. Extremely light bodied. No surprise there.

Beer-shop.it 29.04.22

Bready and malty aroma. Rich, sweet caramel malt flavor, like an overripe dark fruit, with a crisp, moderately bitter hop finish. Alcohol dry finish.

From a jar, oops I mean bottle. Smell is a little sweet, different. Clear pale. Now I smell a little peanut butter on the olfactory. Taste is fairy odd; peanut butter, lager beer, and some sweetness, slightly cloying. Not sure what to think of this stuff, it surprisingly has a good alky kick to it. The alky wasn't up front but in the middle its starting to come round. Aftertaste is volatile peanuts and sugar. Getting a little weird, starting to trigger the cloying gag reflex but just not yet. Difficult, right up to the mouthcoating finish.
